Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dispelling the myth: Vita haz no gaemz (24+ beg to differ) [challenging the boundaries of what counts as a "game"!]

I knew this list would come in handy.........
http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=159298&page=1#

55+ Games have been released on Vita in the past year, this isn't even including the vast majority of Digital indie offerings. Some really great and highly acclaimed titles have released since launch.....

Uncharted GA, ACIII:Liberations, Unit 13, NEW Little Kings's Story, Persona 4 Golden, Ys:Memories of Celceta, Gravity Rush, Killzone: Mercenaries, Tearaway, Sound Shapes, Soul Sacrifice, Ragnarok Odyssey, Guacamelee, DanganRonpa, Rainbow Moon, Little Big Planet Vita.
Most of these are/were exclusives . So many great ports from home console and indies available on the system as well. The likes of Walking Dead, Angry Birds, Terraria, Spelunky, Flower , Limbo, Thomas was Alone, Need for Speed Rivals, Zero Escape:VL

I have listed at LEAST another 50 games coming in the next year for Vita, Sony has stated that Vita will get over 100 by end of the year. Exclusives/Ports/and indies.

The Vita actually has more games coming than 3DS and WiiU combined this year. Vita has just about the same amount of games scoring 75% and above on Metacritic as 3DS.

But somehow......someway............ Vita Haz No GAEMZ!

I am not. Wipeout2048 contains all the tracks from HD and Fury which are ps3 games right? Am i missing something. The people who created Wipeout did not buiild new tracks for VIta. Pretty much is ps3 wipeout with a different name to be honest. DO explain how is it different when you are playing the same exact tracks with control scheme taht feels exactly like DUAL SHOCK controller but on a smaller screen. The only difference is teh screen pirce and teh drop in resolution. You may not like it ,, but it provides a level of immersion which you can't get on a console. The feeling that you are looking into a box is quite cool especially when playing a horror game. Itr doesn't work wih all genre but when it works its quite awesome. Like in Super mario 3ds version ,, the reviews said turing 3d on provided the sense a vertigo. you can't get on a console. Thats what i mean by unique experience. Playing games on the vita is liek playing games on a dual shock controller. Theres no much different unless teh developers uses the additional functionality that psvita has to offer. You do know,, there are peopel who don't mind teh graphic effects when 3d is turned on. Its always about power,, or resolution ,, clearly shown by nintendo dominance in the handheld market.

So you are telling me all sony fans here are casual gamers? Because correct me if i am wrong,, sony consoles caters more to the hard core group right? PS vita is a hardcore handheld right? In that case where was teh support from Sony fans. Why didn't sony;'s fans bought vita. I mean from last gen there were 80 million users yet only 7 million bought vita . explain that. Thats bollocks. Fifa, COD, Assasin creed, Killzone, uncharted are all famous IP well before Vita even existed . By your definition,, the vita should be a great success since "casual gamers" go for big famous IP. How many copies did each above games sell in its lifetime on Vita? There are unique ones like tear away, gravity rus h, soul scarifice,, but they are not enough. Now that you reminded me,, i though t sony gamers love unique game experience . I mean since you guys have lots of indies and games like heavy rain right? Then wheres teh support for it. Explain that

I'm going to probably get moderated for this but reading your responses is giving me a headache. Not only because of your spelling errors which, next to auto correct in todays world... ... but because your "adoration" towards 3DS and hate towards PSV can only be matched by another VGC troll knows as Kaizar. So to put things into simple, the least offensive term that I can master, you're an idiot. Since you clrealy are not even capable of reading and understanding a simple post, I'll try to explain things in most simple words I can type.

Wipeout 2048 is a NEW Wipeout game, which means that the game has NEW tracks designed specifically for Vita. Do you understand? The whole campaign is NEW. New as in not available before 2048... Wipeout HD and Fury are a DLC, which people that own those games on PS3 get for FREE, and those that don't can buy from PSN store. And in doing that they add more CONTENT to the game. So NO, Wipeout 2048 is not a PS3 Wipeout under a different name. Capisce?

3D is the most worthless gimmick mass marketed in the past decade. And if you look at adaptation rates of tech that can provide 3D experiance you can trully see how "desirable" it actually is.  Playing games on Vita is like looking at controller? Sure, the low ress, low contrast, low ppi 3DS screen is trully a sight to behold. And if you still haven't noticed the companies that dominate handheld market are Apple and Google. Almost 2 billion phones nad 300 million tablets shipped in 2013 alone kinda point that out. And majority of them actually has better screens, and better tech under the hood than 3DS... And look at that, nobody gives a f*** if the phone or tablet can't offer 3D experiance...

Obviously 7,5 million SONY fans did buy a Vita. That's still more that Nintendo fans that bought the super amazing, inovative, gold plated, diamond creating Wii U.

Thank you, you took the words out of my mouth, but he doesnt want to understand, so either he's a childish troll playing with us or he's just limited. In both cases, he doesnt deserve our time

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

You can't be serious about smartphones that are simialr and part of the handhelg gamign market. You do knwo they are not part of gaming. They are in their own category lol. Do you actually beleive Temple run2 , angry birds provide AA A expereinces foudn in handheld gaming devices? Thanks for the good laugh XD Better still try playing fps with no physical button XD. Keep trying. You do knwo the lieks of Apple and samsung are aprt of teh phone market,, specifially teh smartphone market. Thats different to the gameing market both handle or console. Therefore Nintendo is still king in the handheld gaming market. Thats because Nintendo are to stubborn to listen to teh console market and don't want to provide what teh consumers want for consoles hence why they are in that position. Similary for the ps vita hence why it sellign so poorly

You do understand that Apple Store and Google Play are making more money on games than Vita and 3DS comboned? And I hope that you understand that AAA is attached to games BUDGET so I doubt it that by money spent on making / marketing a game any handheld game could be called a AAA title.

I know it's hard to live in a Nintendo bubble, but once it pops you might see some things a bit clearly.

And while speaking of games that we'll see in 2014 on phones/tablets... there's Godus, The Witness, Broken Age...

And the impact that smartphones had on a compact camera market is now happening to handheld gaming market. People carry 1 device that is capable of everything they need, a device that can take photos, play music, stream video, email, text and even play games. And the support of developing community that phones and tablets are getting, and decline of handheld market which is clearly happening since neither 3DS or Vita reached projected sale numbers should actually show you that mobile gaming is growing an dis important.

And if you think that next Nintendo handheld won't be a tablet, you clearly are delusional.

I'm only interested in a few of those games (Sonic, Rayman, Sly Cooper) and I can play them in superior fashion on my home consoles. For me, the Vita library is extremely pathetic.

Lol sorry to disappoint,, i have no loyalty to either MS, nintendo or sony. In fact i don't even own nintendo latest WII U yet lol. I own all consoles last gen and most this gen. Nintendo Wii U is on the list. I play them all because you get the best of all worlds. I guess you are only loyal to Sony and only own Sony consoles? Being able to afford all consoles is truly wonderful and in a way its luxury. You should try it,, you will be surprised how much better gaming would be to own all of it. Plus it iwll make you less biased towards a product ;). If you want i can give you my psn ID, my xbox live ID, heck i can even take a pic of my WII AND 3ds nd DS if you want lol.

Yea but anyone selling a game thats cost 1 dollar would make a game. Heck makign a game liek angry bird, or flappy bird or even temple run would be a very small budget,, making it easy to make alot of money. It doesn't mean that they are good games. And do you really call games like temple run, angry games, flappy bird, console gaming quality when you don't have any physical buttons or even analog stick to control. You must be trolling. Try playing complex games like COD , or even Uncharted on it with no proper controls. Good luck with that. Sure witness will come on mobile phones why play the inferior version with no control buttons , inferior graphics and the fact its out on pc, and ps4 where you get supreme graphics and proper controller to control it. Again why would play Broken age on small no control mobile phone when you have superior version on pc with superior graphics and a key board. Seems pointless.. Haha thats Sony excuse for being incompetent with how to sell their psvita. Thats a load BS in my opinion. Look at the 3ds . Its selling very well despite that, DS did really well despite that. Sony just doesn't understand the handheld gaming market,, much like nintendo doesn't understand the console market. Last time i remembered 3DS was selling ahead of DS ,, especially in the US so i don't know what you are talking about . especially since ds sold over 150 million units.. 3DS would sell close to DS or more . It depends if it keeps the lead. Its nearly half of 100million which is really good since as you said that smartphone gaming is killing the handheld industry.

Nope it won't be a tablet .Lets make a bet ,, if i win,, i have this account permaband from vgchartz and you lose you will do the same. Not only that i will admit that i was wrong to everyone in vgchartz. I am confident but are you ?

well to be fair, vita has a lot of games but most of them arent appealing for the mainstream audience.

Vita is a great companion for on the go gaming and it does excellent for me on the go needs. Everyone says that they can play same games in superior version in Home Consoles, but Vita is not meant for Home needs and its for on the Go portable experience which provides close to Home console quality games(because you can't carry your home console everywhere). Its provides great value for the Playstation gamers with PS+, Cross buy/save for many Indies and few console titles, ability to play Classics(PS1, PSP and PS3 Gaikai), PS4 through remote play, its own unique games, entertainment options, web browser etc., which is excellent for the on the go gaming.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Not enough M-rated games with explosions and blood.

I've changed my mind on the Vita's library multiple times, between whether or not I think it is a good one. I basically bought one because I never had a PSP and badly wanted to play games like Tactics Ogre, Valkyria Chronicles 2 but also because I had stocked up about 12 Playstation Plus Vita games and I felt like the device paid for itself.

Unfortunately I have disliked virtually every game I've played on the Vita with the exception of Persona 4, Spelunky (not an exclusive) and the two aforementioned PSP games.

I generally dislike Nintendo as a whole but when I look at 3DS games like Bravely Default, Fire Emblem (only Nintendo franchise I like), Dream Drop Distance, Link Between Worlds and the upcoming Dragon Quest 7 remake, I am a bit envious.

Vita needs desperately to get exclusives. It is pretty sad that its best games are PC indie ports, inferior console franchise spinoffs and a PS2 remaster. Tearaway looks interesting but the 5 hour length makes me wary. Im one of those guys who prefers longer games, for better or worse.

Shhhhh dont tell people, its suppose to be a fun secret.

Move along people, it has no gamez, nothing to see here.
