Forums - Gaming Discussion - CALL OF DUTY 2014 to be developed by SLEDGEHAMMER GAMES!

Lock if already posted.

But yeah, Sledgehammer the team that had a small hand in working on MW3 with infinity ward has officially joined the call of duty team. Now there will be 3 year development cycles for cod titles, Maybe this will make every game feel more freash?

Personally I don't know how much influence they had over MW3 but that was one of my fav cod titles so I'm excited about it.

A link that talks about it:

According to a Sledgehammer developer's Linked In profile it's going to be Modern Warfare 4. According to another leak, Price and Nikolai will be returning as the main characters in the SAS, and they'll be hunting down General Sheppard who survived the ending of MW2 somehow.

Really, interesting that infinity ward is letting them carry on their story and characters.

I assumed they would start their own fresh story like treyarch did..........

yeah i remember reading this a while back, its a good thing that they are making CoD into a 3 year dev cycle, but i would have prefer sledgehammer would make a new IP, but ohh well.

ohh and its fresh, not freash. and your avatar is fucking disturbing.

LOCK IT!!!

.....cod  is easy money......if this works out, more dev teams might join the train.

thats assuming cod can continue to do what it's been doing far into the future.

I'm a religious cod buyer and play mainly for multi player and I hate all teryarch titles from BO and up and I didn't like ghost. I'm not jumping ship yet but one more bad game might make me fall out for a while. I don't have faith in the treyarch games and they would be next in line, I will probably skip that and listen to the reception first.

Titanfall can also be sort of a mini cod killer on the xbox side of things.

These type of scenerios happen with me also. I missed some news that were hot topic. But dont lock the thread for this.

Old, but still interesting.

If anything this shows that they're not letting up on COD anytime soon. I thought thy were banking on Destiny to be their next major cash cow, but anyways I hope they can bring originality to COD. Infinity Ward sure didn't after MW1.
