The funny thing about criticise nintendo it's all go like:"do the obvious, no reason to not do at all", "everyone is doing, its not that hard". So maybe, they just need someone to make the push. To open their eyes for what will work with a litle more effort. And you're the guy who sould do this.
No, not all of you, but maybe you, with experience on the field of IT, can change nintendo. They are hiring someone with experience on the field, and the job posting remains open. And maybe you should jump.
The job will surely have some frustating moments, when people on the other side of the globe don't show much appreciation for change, but you all know that this exactly the area where nintendo do most badly, because they have no idea on how to do it.
Bear in mind, you will not be the first. Till wiiu, nintendo was a pain in the *** to deal with. But then, something happens. Something called Dan Aldemam. He just came from xbox and made policies so open, and told how nitnendo of america and europe should treat indies, and now, they are entirily different on this aspect. One man changed everything. And you can do this too.
Universal accounts. Better servers. Games tied to accounts, not consoles. Cross game voice chat. No region lock. The small things that would be beneficial to everyone, but there is no one at nintendo to show then how to do. Nintendo areadly said that they are more than impressed with the exponential grow of their online bussiness. They are willing to make what has to be made to keep then growing.
Besides, nintendo have a policy of never fire anyone, so you will get job stability as a plus. You can change what you want to see changed on it. Why keeping brag about it on internet boards or make petition after petition when yourself can make the changes. Go man, the job listing is here, click on "All jobs" on the top, on the second page, IT Architech.
Please, save nintendo for us all.
"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."
