MS moneyhatted the graphic designers!

*please moneyhat me MS!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Cos they always output at 1080p, it was a joke last gen anyway, the res on the back of PS3 boxes was never the native res of the game, its technical info for the supported resolutions of the game in terms of output to monitors, weather that be scaled or not.

Were have I seen this before?

lol I never knew what native res was until I came to this site, but I made a point to learn before talking about it.

Threads like this prove that people debate about things they don't really know about.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

Marketers will tell you that if its not one of your strenghts it should not be talked about, same as in politics...

Maybe they just don't want to mislead gamers anymore by putting 1080P on their cases and they definitely don't want to put 720P on the back. Their best option then is to not have the resolution on there.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

@Barozi can u update xbla sales thread.
and send me the link please

As already said, it just doesn't matter, regardless of the internal resolution the XOne will always output a 1080p image, its pointless to just slap a 1080p sticker on the back as it would be the same on literally every box, they did that with 360 games and it was pointless.

Who buys disc now a day... It's to save ink lol
no idea really I've gone DD this Gen and will never look back.... But interesting to know... Do you know the f it's only for third parties or also 1st party games are the same... It'd be interesting to know...

Please... Nothing beats actually owning something physical.

As seen by the OP's follow on posts, plenty of consumers have no understanding of the difference between native rendering resolution and output resolution.
Publishing the output resolution is pointless, they are all 1080p.
Publishing the native rending resolution is not a helpful marketing tactic for MS, because it will always be below PS4 for multiplatforms.
Mystery solved.
