Forums - Gaming Discussion - Rime was supposed to be MS Exclusive but they dismissed it/New information on the game

This was one of the more interesting games Sony showed for PS4 so far, so that seems an awfully strange choice.

I guess it was between this and Lococycle.

Too bad really, but ill play it one way or the other at some point if it ends up being good. Def looks interesting so far.

The thing is, im betting if it was a MSFT exclusive people wouldve just dismissed it as nothing more than an ICO clone. We all know it (hypocrisy) xD

These guys are the same studio that made deadlight (mega flop), published and heavily promoted by microsoft and was featured in the summer of arcade imo. That game looked good initially aswell, best for you people not to jump the gun.

For god sakes, they even asked for  3million in funding for a digital download game that wont even come out for another 2 years. Its funny how you are saying "thanks ms" when you got no idea how this game will turn out, all you are know is the preety visuals, game mechanics might be shit.

Interesting article for the submission form more so than the fact that MS turned it down. This type of things happen all the time, hindsight is 20/20 and I'm sure it was a reasonable choice with the information they were given at the time.

Reading the submission form, though, not only gives you a much more clear idea of what this game is about which makes it sound like a ton of fun, but even the budget of it which is important in its own right. 3million dollars for a fancy looking downloadable title like this.

edit: on the second look that's actually partial funding, so how much more than 3m the game development costs is difficult to say.

Deadlight reviewed pretty well so why are you complaining?

Financillay it was a dud, and hardly gained any traction considering the bad word of mouth it got from the ACTUAL players, alot of people HATED the game.

68 is "pretty well" that means more people enjoyed the game than did not.  I have not played the game but finances has nothing to do with how enjoyable a game is. Though I do think it will be tough for this game to sell 3 million dollars worth of games. I guess it will either be 30$ or 40$ to achieve that. I wonder how much above 3 million this game is going to cost as this is not completely funding the game (as first noted by Torillian)

they were asking for 3,000,000 USD?
well...
