Forums - Nintendo Discussion - First day with Wii U impressions (Sony fan perspective)

You should try the pro controller, its batery life and then tell us your opinion vs ds4 (only played ps4 once, i may be buying one in the future)

A couple of main things (aside from my awesome game library) that really got me about the "U" so far is definitely the browser and Miiverse.

After attempting to use Wii's pitiful opera browser I didn't know what to expect, and the "U's" just blew me away.  It's fast, real fast!  Being able to hit the home button at any time during gameplay and launch the browser and it already has the game you are playing in the search, which is super handy.  pop open a couple tabs and find what you want and then hit the home button again and close the browser and BLAMMO!  You're right where you left off with the game like you never left it...you never have to close the game, pure brilliance!

Same with Miiverse, it is awesome.  Hit the home button, load up Miiverse and post the screenshot that you had up when you hit the home button, and make a comment or add your own hand drawing.  The social community that is Miiverse is great...kinda like a Nintendo Facebook with every "U" owner.  The art that people have done using the gamepad and Miiverse is absolutely unbelievable.

There are still plenty of areas that the "U" can make firmware upgrades to further enhance and improve options and functionality...but it's a great solid foundation to start from.

Also, the Pro controller is awesome.  I have a hard time saying this, but I think it just might trump the GC controller as best I've ever used.  It's damn sleek and very comfortable.

Not knocking what you are saying but a PS4 can do those things too. Though as of right now the Wii U has the better browser. Those types of things are what makes the Wii U superior to the PS3 and 360

not trying to compare to the ps4...just making note of things that the "U" can do that I didn't expect and took me by surprise.  Glad you have been having a positive experience thus far.  Def check out Miiverse and enjoy the system!

Ah, I agree there. The Wii U is more next (this) gen then it gets credit for.

Besides the quick menus and maps, one of my favourite things about the gamepad is that it allows developers to take the UI off the tv screen. It makes games look "clean" and let us see more details during gameplay.

Yeah, I was worried that moving the Wii U around would be a massive hassle. It's good to see my fears confirmed, though. Is it safe to say that your favorite game on the system so far is WW:HD(good on you, if so!), and what games are you most looking forward to? Actually, what convinced you to buy a Wii U in the first place?

Off Topic: DS4's battery only lasts around 10hrs? Maybe I've been spoiled by the Pro controller, but isn't that kinda low?

the pro controller is easyly the best controller this gen. its not as good as the GC controller, but its realy realy nice.

hmm probably mario kart?

HD Nintendo games and the controller. Also my desire to kinda relive childhood.

The DS3 lasts about 30 hours. The DS4 lasts about 9. I think its a decent trade off for the new features. I will get a pro controller soon and compare it to a DS4. But honestlyI cant imagine a pro controller being as good as a DS4. Guess I will see

pro controller is goodddd
