Well shame on people who didn't buy it or people who picked it up used for 10 bucks or whatever. This game deserved to make a huge profit because I want to see more games like this.

I legitimately admire your intellectual honesty on this one.

I'll add as an aside though that buying a $10 copy likely wouldn't help the developer much at all.

It's just weird to me that such a brilliant studio (with what I thought was a solid commercial success rate) could be closed like this. If $3 million copies isn't enough to turn a profit, what is?

Some folks have been beating the drum for years, but to reiterate: the direction the gaming industry has taken, and is continuing to take, means that a developer of a AAA title is not guaranteed to break even at any specific figure, and selling over 3.4 million copies can still be financially disappointing for the publisher. It's no coincidence that so many developers were either bought out or went belly up last generation, and that new studios are almost exclusively playing in the shallow end of the kiddy pool.

But I'm sure this generation, with its even greater horsepower and graphics, will reverse those fortunes!

The Wii is dead now, so gaming's future should be safe.

I guess Bioshock Infinite flopped, 5 years in development for barely 3m in sales. Infinite was fantastic, screw people for not buying it.

I love the bio shock series, unfortunately I never got a chance to get infinite. There's just not enough time for all the great games that came out this gen.... Sometimes, sacrifices must be made.... Maybe I'll pick it up.... Now I feel kind of bad for not getting it, I like to support the companies that produce the good games, especially if they are closing shop for this game not selling enough.... If i do get it, which version was best? PS3 or 360, I have both. Hopefully the series can live on.....

It wasn´t very good. Very, very pretty, story was decent.....but the gameplay was utter shit.

Lowest common denominator level of just another AAA linear setpiece shooter

Yes, with 1 hit deaths...and being able to avoid combat altogether ...and resource managment...and extremly limited supplies ... and very unforgiving multiplayer... yeah it does sound like setpiece shooter

Why do I even bother, knowing your post history and incredibly huge bias...

Greatness awaits! Eventually, but we'll see lots, lots of blood before it.

Explain my bias to me.

Do you see  me in the anti-Sony corner or just irrationally pro-Nintendo corner where people hate everything but Mario games ?

Or just sick and tired of homogenized AAA games ?

And lol, resource managment ?

....multiplayer ? There was no multiplayer !

Man the Freedom Force games were fun.

Manbot and all.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who will miss those games. The lack of a new Freedom Force game saddens me more than the lack of a new BioShock game. Here and here is some info on sequel that was never made.
