So after years and years sticking to the wc3 mod I took the plunge, so far so good but whats up with those gifts and extra ores or something out of those?

It's for the ongoing event. The golden thingies are used to get gold when fighting the New Year Beast, and the green thingies are used to buy chests with neat stuff for your characters.

had the same issue with lol, stuff outside the matches was lame and could actually effect performance. this game by the looks of it only has cosmetic nonsense aye?

You sometimes get extra stuff like a new helmet, boots, pants or whatever for heroes. They are 100% purely aesthetics, they don't affect the heroes in any way.

You also sometimes get treasure which have very rare items in them, however you will have to buy a key in order to open them.

On the new event you get a gift scroll or something like that, and as someone who has played 800 hours of Dota 2, I have no idea what they are for This event kinda sucks tbh, don't see the point in it.

Dota 2 is too easy for me when i play certain characters. Heroes of New Earth seems more fast paced and harder for me somehow. Also for some reason Dota 2 does not feel like Dota, controlling the characters feel kind of weird.

Never played Dota 1 but I always hear that, with some very minor changes, the heroes are basically the same. There's still a few who are still not in Dota 2, I always keep hearing people wanting a Techies or something like that, no idea who he is

Never played Dota 1 but I always hear that, with some very minor changes, the heroes are basically the same. There's still a few who are still not in Dota 2, I always keep hearing people wanting a Techies or something like that, no idea who he is

severly retarded hero, similair to temple assassin with the traps but with remote mines and proximity mines instead
