Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are XBONE graphics closer to Wii U than PS4?

well not on the surface that human eyes can comprehend at the very least.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

I'm seeing a lot of ruffled feathers in this thread, have a cookie op.

Not sure. gpu+cpu:

PS4: ~1.95/2TFlop (32ROPs, 1152 stream processors,
Xbone: 1.4TFlop (only 16 ROPs on gpu so 720p will be very common, 768 stream processors)
WiiU: estimates range from 300 to 600TFlop (8Rops, 320 stream processors)

There are as many ROPs and stream processors on the PS4 vs Xbone gap as the Xbone vs WiiU gap. The gap between PS4 and Xbone is ~500Gflop, Wii vs Xbone can be 800Gflop at minimum

no way it could be close man, look the graphic of Ryse and it explain everything :3

Yeah but WiiU's EDRAM has a better pipeline structure so using hardware numbers wont get you anywhere without architecture concessions. The WiiU has a much better design structure than the X1 in pumping the cycle. Xb1 has some roadblocks

Either way MGSV looks nigh the same on all platforms. simply at different resolutions and extra fidelity on the PS4.

That's pretty much it.

If you want the BEST comparison between the WiiU and Next gen, look no further than Project Cars and Shinen's game.

Read what I'm saying. I agree it's not fair to compare an exclusive to a multiplat. That's not what I'm doing though. It's ("X" vs XBONE MGS) vs ("X" vs PS4 MGS). The decreased graphics of MGS being multiplat essentially factor out.

I thought this thread was about the gap between X1 + Wii U and X1 + PS4. Not Wii U + PS4 and Wii U + X1.

It's all the same. You're having trouble understanding why MGS being multiplat doesn't really matter so I wrote it in the simplest way.  ("X" vs XBONE MGS) vs (XBONE MGS vs PS4 MGS) is what the thread's about. MGS being multiplat essentially factors out in that comparison too, it's just harder to see.

This is turning into math class lol.

i don't think it really matters in two years time it will only be the nostalgic and stubborn that are still buying xbox ones, you can quote me on this in 2 years time.

Actually, judging by the WII Us TDP figures it could only have 160 or 192 shaders.

All three are somewhat close anyway.

With the recent news that MGS:GZ is 720p 60fps on the XBONE, is anyone else starting to feel that the system is closer in terms of graphics to the Wii U than the PS4? There's certainly a large gap between the XBONE and Wii U, no one is denying that, but the gap between the PS4 and XBONE appears even larger. I'm certainly thinking so.

Well consider this...

Wii U ports are often about the same as PS360.

Xbox One ports on the otherhand are at par with PS4 but generally running at a lower resolution.

I think that's a pretty clear indication of where X1 and Wii U stand.
