Forums - Gaming Discussion - Metal Gear Solid V Confirmed 720P on Xbox One, 1080p on PS4, Screenshot Comparison Released

This is pretty much going to be the norm. PS4 will always either be double the resolution or double the frame rate. May even see cases were games are 1080/60 on PS4 and 720/30 on XBO as the gen goes on, and devs learn to take advantage of PS4's advanced GPGPU capabilities.

Can not wait tell next month. So much goodness. Titanfall, this, and Infamous, gen 8 is picking up.

Um, what the hell? The Current and last gen versions look identical to me. Sure there's the res and framerate difference, but I expected there to be an overall improvement in the visuals as well, like Tomb Raider.

They don't look identical to me. My eyes is not perfect, but your eyes must be really bad lol.

Did you look at the screens on your phone or a TV. There are giant difference in textures, lighting, polycount, aa, and the list goes on. Last gen we had all these games that looked amazing on a 14" laptop screen then tourtured our eyes on the +50" display in the living room. This gen games look noticibly better on that 14" screen, but relveal a massive amount of detail at native res on larger screens.

I recall hearing the PS4 version looks and runs significantly better. But this article leads me to believe the disparity is once again resolution. Well, we're gonna have to wait for more thorough analysis I suppose.

I'm just glad they opted for 60 fps instead of 1080p on the X1 version.

Those 7th gen version seem to hold up pretty well considering they have one-tenth the power of their 8th gen successors.

For those who don't like to click links. side by side comparison.

Well the scaler is a bit better on the X1 but it looks about right.

Also where did you get these from? Didn't see them on the site.

My eyes are fine(recently passed a drivers license test), but they still look the same to me. The text speaks pf improvements, but I have to as myself, "where?" Also, the pictures appear to be horribly compressed. PS4 looks blurry, and all the other versions are even worse. Granted, I am on my phone, but this is the only 1080p display I own, and pictures generally look significantly more crisp on it than on my PC monitor.
