Their are still some quality bands out today, but I agree alot of music sucks. Unfortunately most of the crappy music is all mainstream with subliminal messages that if you play the song backwards you can hear some crazy Illuminati crap.

OP, I agree with what you. I mean, look how songs try to make words rhyme, some songs shorten a word in order to rhyme with another word, others just use some random word that doesn't even rhyme, and there are others that use the SAME WORD that was already used in a previous line so that, well, rhyme.

I think that some of the most successful artists of earlier decades are among the best artists of that time. That isn't the case anymore.

Not sure if those are the best examples, but I'm thinking about The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Queen, Van Halen, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Run-D.M.C. or even Michael Jackson until 'Bad'. These were all mainstream successes.

Some of those band still release new albums, but they're mostly crap.

That doesn't make your point any less true, however. Some of trash shat out into soundwaves these days is just astonishing.

True dat, I usually listen to a lot of stuff that my parents used to listen too. I respect the artists today, I'm not up there doing what they are doing, but I don't like their music.
