Wow, so someone is probably being honest rather than doing what everyone does nowadays and give a straight 9/10 for everything simply to appease the fans.

Me too. It's especially funny because apparently they rated the original DKCR an 8.5/10. TF would seem to improve everything the original did by a large margin, so even if they did take off points for unoriginality (which they seem to be fine with in most other sequels that do more of the same), a 5/10 still makes no sense. Sounds like a biased review to me.

Obviously true, yet if it's by the same website and they want to consider themselves as 'professionals', at the very least they ought to adhere to some form of perspective and continuity. Not that I care much for most professional reviews, but this is like awarding God of War 2 on PS2 an 8.5/10 then giving God of War 3 on PS3 a 5/10. Or Halo on Xbox an 8.5/10, then Halo 3 on 360 a 5/10. The margin is just off. Well, that's my take on it, anyway, and I think it makes sense.

Hmm, only one review score which has yet to be revealed (so the score means nothing without the words to explain it), when the review embargo lifts tomorrow and we can see how the game is received, and people are freaking out?

Yeah, it's a low score for the game looking at previews, but that's meaningless by itself with nothing else. So I'm going to be patient and wait until tomorrow, and see the reviews which come out and see the reasoning, rather than assuming what the problems are.

I can remember I took an instant disliking to DKCR on the wii. Perhaps I should have pushed through my initial dislike for it but after half an hour of playing I just stopped and never played it again. I can remember asking myself afterwards what score would I give it and my answer would be that I'd decline to give a score since it didn't feel like it was my 'type' of game.

The reviewer may have had a similar issue. Shame I didn't like new DKC as Diddy's Quest was easily my favourite SNES game.

I guess they were annoyed that the game were more of the same, .....just like 3D World.
