It's good to see Bravely at the top of the US SW :)

So is it Xbox One vs. WiiU now? The PS4 obviously isn't a part of this anymore.

Everything but 3DS and PS4 (and probably PS3, considering its age) do badly. Really badly. For the sake of the console industry I hope that this trend doesn't continue.

With adjustments the XB1 sold 301k in January, so Joe lost his bet after all.

PS4 still in beast mode and still supply issues the middle of february. Just crazy. Wii U and Vita still on Life Support. X1 approaching similar numbers at an alarming rate.

It's pretty much over. PS4 is just dominating everything and it will do even more so with Japan. But since Sony did just about everything right, that Victory is well deserved.

With one little difference: to make a game now demands more money and more time. So if Gen 6 repeats itself, the xbox brand will be out of bussines (and if it weren´t for the 3DS Nintendo would be out too). Not good for the industry.

In all seriousness though I think Bravely Default is also slightly overtracked. 

This. I don't think that the console/handheld market is dying. Were just seeing the numbers that 7th gen systems would have pulled off if the mainstream audience wasn't present. Basically, were going to see very similar numbers to the 6th gen unless some kind of revolutionnary accessory comes out (ala wii fit) and brings in once again that mainstream audience.

I highly doubt that even if the 3DS failed nintendo would have still lived. 

I also highly doubt that the xbox brand would be axed given the fact that over the years microsoft is still reluctant to drop it.
