"On the whole, Nintendo is falling apart". Really? REALLY? LOL I'm sorry but.............*facepalm*

But "Nintendo is falling apart"? Not even close.

I admit it... That was overly dramatic... But it's just that, I'm a Nintendo fanboy, and I'm losing hope! There's something wrong there. The last Direct made me worry more than excite me. And I mean they're falling because it doesn't matter what they do, it won't help them because they lost. I'm not saying they'll go bankrupt this year, the next, or in the next 5 years. But they dig themselve in this whole, and there's no way back up...

Because you're not actually paying attention to what nintendo's REALITY is. Just what people are pushing down your throat about the company which distorts how people see them.

This my friend is nintendo's reality.

3DS is Up year on year outside of Japan, Its outselling GBA in Japan.

http://www.siliconera.com/2014/02/10/nintendo-3ds-sales-outpacing-game-boy-advance-japan/

WiiU is on pace to outsell the gamecube. Nintendo released 4 gamecube games in the Gamecube's first year.
They released 10 in WiiU's first year after that shitty drought.

If you listened to the amount of shit spoken about Nintendo you'd miss the forest for the dirt it grows upon.
Nintendo is in a Negative PR storm that feeds peoples addictions and it makes them money. Its like they want to see a train crash that isnt actually crashing, its growing wings in preparation to take off as it becomes an airplane

http://www.edge-online.com/news/amazon-uk-on-the-next-gen-race-nintendos-plight-microconsole-rumours-and-accidental-leaks/

Besides. This is a very VERY good sign http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/bestsellers/videogames/ref=pd_dp_ts_vg_1#1

And I hope that all this is true, but right now, Wii U is failing hard, and the 3DS is below expectations. Not bad, actually very good, but still below Nintendo's own expectations...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Don't lower the price so they can make money off console sales + the 3DS, just like the Gamecube and GBA days. Just make the Wii U a 1st Party+indie machine. Announce a new console+handheld at E3 2016 and have them both release holiday 2017.

Also, buy companys. Nintendo really missed a big chance with Atlus.

About atlas, man do I agree... And they were a bargain too. Would have gone along way for them in Japan at the very least.

I agree with you. Things to tend to get a bit overblown when it comes to nintendo. It's funny how a company sitting on over $11 billion in cash is in so much trouble, but a company like Sony that is actually in tons of trouble and owes billions, has so many people acting as though they re in such a good position...

First of all, they need to develop a better relationship with the major third parties. Even if they can't get third parties to make games for Wii U, it will make 3rd parties more likely to support the Wii U's successor. Also reduce the cost of licensing fees so that third parties will make their money back more easily from their Wii U games and will be more willing to port games (third parties sell so little on the Wii U that I doubt licensing fees are a major source of income for Nintendo, so it wouldn't reduce their profits by too much).

Second, they need to make the Wii U more appealing to consumers: make a gamepad-less SKU for around $200, advertise the Wii U more and expand their first-party library to appeal to a wider audience. Maybe even drop the price of their games only 6 months after they release, instead of once their next system is out like what they did with their Wii games. I, for one, would be more willing to buy their system if their games weren't so expensive for so long.

Assasins Creed and Call of Duty have made a profit off the WiiU due to porting being cheap. The solution is to get third parties to make more games that Nintendo's audience would buy. If you look at why they' havent released anything on the 3DS you'd see why. They dont know what the fuck to do after spending so much money on one demographic that wants 15 open world AAA games a year

Parts have been relatively cheap so far, but that will end soon now that the PS4 and XBOne are out and developers stop making versions of their games for the PS3 and 360. Lowering the licensing fees would, hopefully, help offset the higher costs for porting and convince at least a couple publishers to keep making games for Wii U. And making more games for Nintendo's existing audience won't help Wii U sales much. If your product is failing, you don't continue to appeal to the same consumers you already have, you try to bring in new ones. More Nintendo games won't bring in new consumers.

As for your other replay, a few retailers slashing the price of their Wii Us isn't the same as an official price cut. Not everyone is aware of these special offers, but if Nintendo announces a price drop, everyone (mostly) will know that the Wii U is $200 now. And I think a $200 gamepadless SKU would be much more appealing than the current one. I, personally, see little value in the gamepad, and I think a $200 price for the Wii U would be absolutely perfect. I'd certainly consider buying it at that price.

Saving the Wii U is relatively simple: Price cut the Tablet controller, Overhaul the Nintendo Network integrating it with the 3DS, buy more development studios to work on rereleases and older IPs, Advertise as a games platform and put advertisement into exclusive Wii U games, get advertising deals with games retailers. Get deals with mobile platforms, to get Nintendo Apps on phones and tablets.

Nintendo is the only manufacturer that cares more about hardware rather than software, thus in order to move more hardware they need to increase demand which can be done with better advertising and a wider variety of games. E.G Nintendo is basically sitting on a Titanfall level exclusive in Metroid...but they would probably have to ruin some parts of the game to give it mass appeal. At the same time, all Metroid would have to do is add COD multiplayer, not tacked on but well developed and it could do both, but it mandates that Nintendo stop its online network facade and just outsource there infrastructure to Google, Apple, or Microsoft.

WiiU´Pokemon MMO with competitive multiplayers and worldwide competitions to see who is the best pokemaster.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Which again mandates a better online network, If Sony could do PSN while bleeding money, Nintendo has no excuse.

They need to go all out to get 3rd party support. If not for the wii u then their next system. They cannot keep relying on the same series that have been around for a decade plus. They have the talent to create another franchise.

The Wii U is lacking that cool image the Wii had which they need to regain maybe a redesign of some sort could accomplish that.

I dunno it depends on the amount of work nessescary because you know, thy're porting directly from a PC, so optimization rquired varies from here on out, its a case by case basis in relation to the expenses incurred.

And no the PS3 isnt actually being dropped yet.

As for the gamepad, its an incredibly useful device, and Nintendo has NFC games coming out and the next Zelda game is going to have puzzles and other specifications for how its utilized, so  I think Nintendo needs to

Taking the gamepad out wont make the system cheap enough to cut it down to 200$ maybe 250$ at best

I mean the thing practically is 295$ already in the Windwaker bundles and the Windwaker game is 50$. So Thats a 250$ console that comes packed with other stuff and then you can buy extra storage for 50$.
