Ok....

1) How did he get a 21 year old sentence for KILLING 77 PEOPLE....

2) HOW TA HELL does he have access to anything, let alone a PS2....

This is the only time where you would see me endorse an outdated punishment. He really should be put to death, and not by needle or electric chair (Which is really quick). I believe the man feels no remorse and deserves in turn that punishment on to him.

Norway is still a great place, just wish they weren't so nice to all convicts.

I will have you know that prisoners in the Nordic countries actually are less likely to commit more crimes after spending time in prison compared to, say, prisoners in he US.

Harsh punishment =/= less likely to remain a criminal

Give him a PS3 ... just shove it up his rear end.

You really think this person at all, will be reformed? I think he gave up right to a second chance when he attacked a bunch of people on the most peaceful of days.

Great idea.

And while we are at it, we should make sure that teachers start bullying bullies at school so that they realize how wrong they are. That will teach them.

So you think giving the same easy punishment that Nordic nations have to this guy is a good idea?

I'm not an expert. What I think is irrelevant.

The court made a judgement that I'd support before that of a forum-goer any day.

This guy will never be released from jail, it's pretty much a forgone conclusion, they will change the laws, but for his sentencing 21 years was the max he could get.

The punishment is not the crucial part. The crucial part lies within the treatment.

Punching a criminal may feel good to us personally, but it won't make the criminal realize that what he did was wrong. The treatment is all about making him come to that realization.
