Japan.

XB1 sold more in US in its first Jan then WiiU did in US + Europe.

The thing is that Japan wouldn't have made a significant difference for the X1, wouldn't you agree? X1 January numbers aren't great, there's no two ways about that.

I do feel that MS has alot more things they can do with the X1 to turn the ship around than Nintendo can/could do with the Wii U though.

Nintendo has it's own market segment (children and families) that it can always do well with, given the right titles and push.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Xbox One is losing momentum with its price tag. "Expensive hardware with a weaker specs" That's how things are in the market for consumers. No matter how many defending articles like "eSRAM is more efficient" keep coming, it's price will always be the impeding factor.

yup people think this is 2006, where people didn't know about hardware specs, these days most are informed, people always trying to buy the most powerful phones cause of there HD out put and specs.

This is spinning at it's best. The facts state differently.

Unfair comparison. Xbox One still has to release in Japan, its strongest region.

LOL.. yeah, right...

Yes, I would have to second this.  I'm sure the Xbox One would be handily outselling the Wii U If we could include Japan sales.  AT LEAST 1k a week! lol

Playing Xenoblade 2 before I buy Xenoblade 3 (otherwise I couldn't wait to play 3).

Can they announce a new Fire Emblem? A remake of Genealogy or Tellius would suffice !

They buy "the most powerful" phone because the companies market it as such. The people who buy "the most powerful" phone don't even know what GHz means nor do they care.

they might not know but its not just about marketing, its about google, the internet and word of mouth,  by thousands of people that care for the best hardware and they will spread around like wild fire, i'm sure most people at best buy, gamestop and other electronics store know the ps4 is more powerful and tell people its better then X1 based on that fact alone.

Isn't this global Wii U numbers versus NA xbox One numbers though?

Wii U costs a lot less than One, Wii U never had a next gen competitor at the time, and Wii U's been available in more markets during the same time. Unfair comparison.

It may be "unfair," but that lends itself more to simply being the position the X-Box has put itself in and less about the comparison actually being skewed in some way. Microsoft chose to launch the One alongside the PS4, and also chose to mark it at a much higher price level. Neither of these are going to go away anytime soon (the PS4 certainly won't, and Microsoft has been pretty adament about keeping the price at $500), so the comparison is valid.

At least its valid in that regard. I can't say I've kept up to date on when the One releases in each country, so there could be a sizeable unfairness in that respect.
