The PS4's power seems...

Better, but not THAT much better anymore... 241 15.42%

Are you crazy?! The PS4 is GOD! 349 22.33%

The Wii U is clearly unde... 741 47.41%

The PS4 is selling better... 36 2.30%

I think I'll be buying a... 191 12.22%

The PS4 games will obviously look much better and be at a higher resolution, but I can't think of anything it can do game-play wise the Wii U cannot. The Wii U can render huge worlds, have dynamic lighting, locked 60 fps, have many enemies on screen, etc. The quality and resolution of the textures may be lower, and the lighting may not be as realistic but that's not necessary for an engrossing gaming experience, that's up to the director, developer, etc. Higher resolutions and textures won't make bad developers game's good. As well if you don't know how to make a believable world, more resolution won't fix that. To make a game/world believable that's in the art direction, writing, diecting, the experience, etc.

The Wii U will always be underpowered compared to the PS4 and Xbox One, there is no way around. IT doesn't mean it is not capable of rendering beautiful games. X looks really really good. Bayonetta on the other hard looks pretty rough in my opinion.

The really bad artifacting and compression on Platinum Games' trailers always pisses me off (seriously, how hard is it to increase the compression quality a bit!?), but you can see some seriously big battles with lots going on and plenty of details in that trailer...  Bayonetta 2 looks the opposite of rough to me, it looks like it's going to pour salt in some wounds of the people threatening Platinum Games over the Wii U exclusivity.  If it looks and plays great, it will only make those haters even more hateful, lol

Shin'en did say the Wii U can handle 4k-8k res textures, so in reality, I think the Wii U may be able to pull off some pretty impressive stuff.  The real issue is that AAA third parties are NOT going to spend the money and development time squeezing every last ounce of power out of the Wii U...  It's up to Nintendo to do that, unfortunately...

Given that we don't have any comparable games, we can't say for sure. But X didn't look great.

But seriously, the power gap between PS4/XB1/Wii U will be more evident as this new generation marches on. I'm not confident that The Order with its soft body physics can be replicated on Wii U.

Anyone else kind of feel like the PS4's power gap isn't that big anymore?  I mean, sure it's more powerful, but after seeing these two, I don't find myself thinking "Oh, how much better this would have looked on PS4"... Am I the only one that thinks that people will stop thinking the Wii U is underpowered after these two games see daylight?

lol no.

What do you think will happen when ND shows of UC4.....

What do you think will happen when Nintendo shows off Zelda U.....

Then again, Zelda has been known for controversial art styles that totally distract people from the actual technical prowess underneath them... (Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, anyone?)

Edit: Fixed smiley, lol
