Paying for a portion of a game rather than the full completed title has been going for years in different forms. I think you'll find Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles were originally meant to be 1 complete game but divided to get extra revenue because it was a big project, that was on the Megadrive. Game devs charging what they feel people will pay for their games has literally always existed.

If they pump the extra money from this into making MGSV an even more amazing game than it already is planned to be then woohoo everyone will benifit from those core fans of MGS who will want to know the story leading up to MGSV, I'm sure it's not cheap to create the type of cinematic games like MGS is expected to be.

Why is this surprising at this point? If an XB1 game actually has parity with a PS4 title it would be news. I know I'm in the minority on this, but I think Hideo Kojima is highly overrated.

I actually think he is a bit of a racist against the western gamer/developer with some of his comments on both our games and buying habbits, He really lowered in stock in my book with those jabs.

Or how about we ignore it and give it the reception it deserves. Paying for a 2 hour demo now?

Gonna have to agree with Kowenicki here. I hope this game flops so Konami doesn't try to pull this shit in the future.

You should have read the follow up posts to this one. The game has more than two hours of content.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

The OP has nothing to do  with the content of the game, neither do the tweets. This thread is about the performance on 2 next gen consoles. Your post could be seen as derailment

It is a derailment, and if I cared enough to report chronic offenders I would.

Back on topic, reports indicate GZ looks sharper and plays smoother on the PS4 and no one should be surprised.

PP, the non-"two hour demo" will in all likelihood look sharper and play smoother on the PS4 as well, and no one should be surprised.

There will be many more instances like this for other games over the upcoming years, and no one should be surprised.

It seems like the only reason GZ is being released in retail packaging is for promotional purposes and for collectors and fans that would rather pay for a demo than wait for a complete package.

Gran Turismo Prologue anyone?

It would make so much more sense to release GZ as DD content on PSN and XBL, but apparently Konami is really attached to the idea of selling a physical product.

Personally, I like collectable MGS products; they're about the only ones I buy (MGS4 LE PS3, MGS Peace Walker PSP, various collectors editions), but it does cheapen a product when people who are not so invested in a franchise are expecting to buy a full game only to find out they're really just buying a prologue.

Konami also could have attached GZ to any other new gen game they're releasing in the near future by packaging it as a promotional item. It would actually sell copies of a game that might not have sold as well. So either Konami has no such game in the works to be released on the same time table, or GZ is more than just a "2 hour demo."

Nahhh mine is just haxed and I don't like supporting greedy publishers... When MGSV comes out, I will get a ps4 and buy it there but until that happens, I am not willing to pay $40 for a 2 hour game
