Yeah I think it could be too, but how much smaller is a bigger question. I still think that US is in no doubt the biggest market. And the imports I would see here from EU are most likely from the UK, so I will give you a point there too.
It would absolutely be interesting to see numbers from online retailers how many games they have shipped to China and HK, since this is the place I would assume all the games I see comes from, that is eBay, Amazon etc. And also shipped to smaller countries that has to wait for games longer, or games are more expensive, like Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands etc. Would be interesting to find out.
I did order a few games from Canada and UK when I lived in Northern Europe some years ago, because I saved a lot of money by doing this. Now that I live in China I don't need to import, because the prices are already US-level. And if the game is discounted, for example on the PSN(HK store), I can point this out to the game shop I visit here and they let me buy that game cheaper or for the same price.
JoeTheBro: I could be but also I could be way off, haha. Impossible to say really. When I estimated my numbers I thought of what it might/could have sold in Beijing, perhaps 10k, and then thought of other big cities in China and assumed it could have sold about the same there also. And far less in smaller cities.
GTA, NBA, FIFA and PES are games that you will find anywhere in China.
