Here in Argentina the most well-known gaming product is the Playstation 2.
From all my personal experiences I dare to say that this is because it is extremely easy to hack in order to play pirate games. Truth is no one here gives a flying f*ck about paying for anything you can get for free, and I mean literally nobody, I'm like the only person I know besides one friend that actually buys things like videogames, movies and music. Even people that I know has real lots of money and actively spoil their kids still buys pirate games, downloads illegal music, etc (But hey, their TV, their car and their house are huge). Wii and Xbox360 are also common here again because of piracy, but not nearly as much as PS2. I have a few friends who have PS3s tho but that's where legality ends, since they only buy the yearly CoD and Fifa (Which are the strongest IPs here I think), and maybe GTA V. Needless to say, PS is the most popular brand here, despite many people only getting PS3 and now PS4 for a few dudebro games.
Fun fact: When an adult here talks about a console, whether it's a PS, a Wii, a 3DS or an Xbox, they refer to it as "the play" (An obvious acronim to Playstation).
Fun fact 2: Gaming shops seems to actually need to clarify that they have non-pirate games with a sign in a window or the door saying something like "Original games". I've seen this more often that I'd like to admit.
So, which is the most popular console in your country and why do you think it is that way?
