Forums - Sony Discussion - Introducing to North America the new Borderlands 2 PS Vita Slim bundle...

Will this bundle make a difference in the Vita's sales?

Yes 41 31.30%

No 36 27.48%

maybe... 31 23.66%

Vita is already dead, who cares? 21 16.03%

Total:129

I bet with DLC more than half the space of that 8GB card is taken. Simply ridiculous. I don't understand why 32-64GB isn't the normal amount of storage for a device with 48% digital sales.

You admit your device is used as an iPod for games but you refuse to give them storage to support such a use case. Way to nickel and dime your most enthusiastic customers Sony. Absolutely pathetic. The very first iPod in 2001 had 5GB of storage. 2014 you have 8GB. Cheap $100 phones come bundled with more storage than this. If this is competitive as you chose to be then you deserve the low sales.

This bundle is amazing! But of course you guys are expecting things like 64gb storage to be included along with 10 AAA games at a price of 20$. The 3DS XL is 170$, but thats not expensive either? lol Ok. Whoever gets this bundle is getting an amazing deal and an amazing backlog of games to play through. Luckily I already imported a hot pink/black slim vita from Japan so I won't be getting it.

If I could get a PSV for $199 and the memory cards were like my 3DS ($15 for a 32gb I got for it) I would already own the system.  I do not care about any included games (have no desire to play Borderlands 2 after trying it for free on PS3 via PS+) as think PS+ does a great job already for the system. The issue is that PS+ means those memory cards become that much more mandatory.

I think Sony actually have a great system possibly here and if the memory cards were more reasonable either first party pricing or open to third party options I would be all over it.  I just cannot rationalize spending $80 (32gb) to $120 (64gb) additional on memory cards. Especially given the redesign is not a superior version like the 3DS XL was to the 3DS.

Kinda stupid that it is a downloadable game. Might as well put in a 4 Gb card with a physical copy of the game.

Anyway it is a bundle that makes sense in the US, it might just help the sales a bit but a miracle won´t happen.

No fluorescent condoms and Red Bull included? This bundle sux.

This is pretty tempting. I really enjoyed borderlands 2 and having it on the go would be awesome. Just worried the online community will be so tiny it won't be worth it.

Community? You can only play with 3 players at once, anyway. Don't really need hundreds of thousands of online players to be able to do that.

"So no, I don't think this really does anything for sales. I mean, you can buy BL2 for $20 now, or the GOTY version for $40." /J.Allard

This is practically the GOTY version, isn't it? So that's the at least $40 added value + 8GB memory card, which costs something like $30

The problem is that this game will lucky to have a hundred players online at any given time. And you need 3 players within a close level of you, that are currently playing online, and not in a full game. It actually takes a few minutes for me to find a game on the PC version which has 20,000 people online at any given time. But the vita is building up a nice library of games. Could be worth it.

Ran across this on the PS Blog

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/02/10/new-ps-vita-model-confirmed-for-us-included-in-borderlands-2-bundle/

This is the Vita bundle I have been waiting for. I have put off buying one mostly due to that price tag but I have been wanting to get a Vita since they launched and I was very excited when they announced Borderlands 2 would be coming to Vita as well. I have already played Borderlands 2 on PC and most of the DLC but I am more than willing to replay it on the go and now that it is coming in a pretty decently priced bundle (comes with an 8GB card) I am gonna preorder mine asap.

My question is is anyone else swayed by this bundle and does anyone think this will help move more Vitas?

The price is what has held u back but isnt this the same price as the current sku? A game plus memory card does add to the value but that doesnt make up a huge price difference.

No the orginal SKU was $249 and that was just the system until what last summer? Even now it is anywhere fro 189.99 TO 209.99 depending on whether it comes with a game and/or a 4GB card. This SKU is coming with Borderlands 2 and an 8GB card plus 1GB of on board memory which I personally find more compelling than a base model or a bundle with the Walking Dead or Tearaway and a 4GB card.

For me it does make a huge difference mostly because I have a wife and kids and bills and the old ball and chain (she really isn't old) likes to remind me that there are other things I could be spending my hard earned cash on than an over-priced yet very cool hand held gaming device.

Lets not all go rushing in and buy it all at once now...

Sigh... What are you doing Sony... Its like they left a monkey in charge of the Vita division and see how many Vitas it can sell before the fans realize how much of a waste of money it really is... At least Nintendo understands that the wiiU needs big budget games vs Sony looks like they are high on something and isn't even trying to sell the Vita anymore cause the ps4 is so successful

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Just registered my preorder on Amazon. Remote play, Dragon's Crown, Borderlands 2 and all those PS➕ games I have saved up all in my hands this Spring. Can't wait.

I'll wait until it's free on ps+
