So............you're saying that you WANT the Wii U to be done after Zelda comes out, either late this year, or next year? Cuz........no thanks.

Me? There's too much I'd like to see, just from Nintendo alone:

A GOOD Star Fox game.

A new Wave Race with gorgeous HD water and amazing advanced water physics.

An HD Chibi Robo game. It just needs to happen.

An Excite Truck sequel, but improve it, add more vehicles types (cars, bikes), more tracks, better online, etc.

A new REAL Metroid game. I'm not against another Prime also, but I really want a new (fully) 2D Metroid. In HD.

Perhaps a Pikmin 4 that puts the treasure hunting, zoom-able camera, and swarming back where they belong.

A new console Paper Mario. To me personally, I'd love to see a sequel to Super Paper Mario, I loved that game.

An HD Kirby game. Wouldn't mind if they'd do it in that hand-drawn art-style they tested for the last Wii one.

Another Mystwalker rpg, Wii U exclusive, and perhaps this time a bit more "old school" fantasy styled.

New, original IPs by Retro, Nintendo, and maybe other companies like Next Level Games.

Another awesome schmup game by Treasure, or perhaps something along the lines of Mischief Makers.

An Animal Crossing online game, with a lot more content and stuff to do, and a huge world.

Another fresh idea from Platinum would be nice, my dream would be a straight beat 'em up, like Viewtiful Joe.

An HD Endless Ocean 3, just with a lot more to actually do in-game.

Perhaps a brand new rpg/action-rpg from Camelot would be cool.

The console Pokemon everyone wants. I'm not really a fan, but it'd still be cool to see.

And that's just some ideas of shit I'd love to see just on this system alone. That's not including third party games (which there of course needs to be more of), and indie games as well. And honestly, I've already invested plenty into the Wii U. I'm fully looking forward to a few years of great games before I have to shell out cash for ANOTHER new console.

You have to understand why its a bad idea.

Nintendo cant rush the Wii U out or it will lose consumer trust. That is the only thing they have going for them now. If they lose that they will be going the way of SEGA and it will be impossible to release a sucessful sucessor.
Dont buy into the negativity. A Nintendo console only needs Nintendo games to be worth your money. No need to rush it out for another one that will probably repeat the cycle. Even with a console the same level of power as X1 and PS4 i still dont see Nintendo getting any worthwhile third party support. The GC didnt, so why would it be any different now?

This exactly. At this point it's blatantly obvious Nintendo won't ever get any decent 3rd party support, at all. If Wii didn't get it (apart from mingame shovelware), no Nintendo home console ever will. They ought to become self-sufficient asap; luckily, they're already in the process of doing just that, as they've been greatly expanding their development capacity in recent times. People buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games, every 3rd party title they get is nice, but they can't rely on them.

yeah, you've said it best so far.  cutting early would hurt consumer trust and make the next console a hard sell to even the most diehard fans.

...i think nintendo should go just the opposite.  flood the wiiU with nintendo first party games.  don't worry about graphics for resolution or fps at all just get more games out there and as fast as possible.  make tons of smaller "indie" style games too.  make sure the consumer knows that a nintendo console is worth buying even if nintendo is the only developer making games for it.

What consumers?

(*raising hand) One such consumer here!

Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird.

I think Nintendo should support it 5 years and give us a game of all their classic franchises, so, new Metroid, new Pilotwings, new Punch out etc. And I would like to see some exclussive games from third parties, like Bayonetta and Wonderful 101.

After Zelda U , next generation please.

I must register.

Are You nutts????!!! Only one game from Retro Studio (some new IP or just Metroid)? No epic Mario game (like Galaxy)? And I still have hope for F-Zero and Star Fox.

Killing of the Wii U that fast is bad for business.

You forgot Metroid Prime U ;)
