This doesn't make any sense. Considering Watch Dogs for Wii U will most likely be slightly inferior to the PS4/Xbox One version, Ubi Soft needs to release the PS3/Xbox360 version first, then the Wii U version, and then cash in a little extra on those hard core gamers who's willing to play the game as soon as possible, and then also willing to buy enhanced versions of the game for Wii U and later PS4/Xbox One.

I'd say something like this:

April: PS3/Xbox 360
May: Wii U (slightly enhanced graphics, and with Touch Screen features)
June: PS4/Xbox One (Much better graphics, AI and other features)

This would maximise sales on ALL plattforms.
This doesn't make any sense at all.

If it goes like this then I'm okay with it. That would be like following the rayman legends way - buy it on ps360, Wii U, wait a little and buy enhanced version on ps4, 1080p and stuff

People really need to get over Rayman Legends. The difference with that was that it was an exclusive that was delayed to make multiplat because the Wii U's install base was not high enough. Also that was the smart thing to do as the PS3 sku was the top selling version.

This is a whole different beast altogether as this game is multiplat and the install base for Wii U is not much higher than it was when they announced the Rayman delay to begin with. Between the AC games, ZombieU which was not profitable and had it's sequel canned to Rayman sales, it's no wonder the Watch Dogs Wii U delay happened. People need to vote with their wallet instead of bitching about a Rayman game from last year.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was cancelled like aliens game before..

they are basically saying it's a waste of resources to focus on a wiiu version..and they are right

Aren't the versions being made by different teams? How does this make any sense at all?

There's something very wrong going on here at some level, between the still-ambiguous actual release date for any platform and the radio silence on the Wii U version. My suspicion that the whole game, in any form, is a giant lemon grows stronger.

They may as well cancel it, this makes no sense this ensures it will be a sales disaster.

yeah really.  wiiU hasn't been selling games well to begin with.  send this game out late and you pretty much guarentee it will fail.  why even bother...

This is gonna bomb big time now. Good call Ubisoft.

I don't think Ubisoft is a bad company. I actually kind of like them. But whoever's in charge of making Wii U-specific release decisions needs to be fired. Take the platform that's least likely to succeed and delay it. Yeah, makes perfect sense.

Might as well not even release it.

Yeah, like the Wii U port of Aliens: Colonial Marines was delayed

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
