It's roughly 11 gigabytes! Holy cow, for a 2d sidescroller to be bigger than all the 3d Wii u games, and it doesn't even use the gamepad except for offscreen play. Anyone have any idea what Rayman legends and Nsmbu were size wise for comparison? This game is gonna be stuffed with content.

NSMBU was 2gb iirc.

My 1 TB hard drive laughs at this.

Just to compare to other Nintendo games:

• Pikmin 3 is about 3.9 GB
• New Super Mario Bros U is about 1.7 GB
• Nintendo Land is about 2.8 GB
• Super Mario 3D World is about 1.7 GB
• Wind Waker HD is about 1.8 GB.
• Wii Fit U is about 3 GB.

So Tropical Freeze is about 6 or 7 times the size of Nintendo's other Wii U platformers.

Incidentally, the original DKC: Returns was about 4.3 GB I think.

It's  that massive thanks to  that fur, man.

It's certainly not the biggest as stated by the article but much more than NSMBU.

However size isn't everything. Uncompressed audio files alone could fill 5GB or so.
Most games up there fit on one 360 disc (7.9 GB usable space) for example.

With my internet speed this will take like 12 hours to download....

Damn it has got to be Cranky Kong.

Man, Retro is so lazy. It took them three years to make a 2D game that's nine times larger than 3D World.
