To me it's as much a fact that the 360 sold more than ps3, as it's a fact that the ps4 is more powerful than the x1.... Hopefully, they change the numbers here to reflect the 360 is in fact ahead, but if they don't? Oh well! I still like to look at the weekly numbers, because they do give an idea of what the numbers are, and that's what it's all about. Now, everyone, back to your corners for a breather! Let's just all calm down here.... If ioi(?) wants to fix the numbers, he will, if not, it won't bother me or alter my enjoyment of my machines of choice! |
The numbers Sony released recently didn't have a breakdown of the consoles - they just had a total number for PS3 + PS4. That means we can only guess what the actual PS3 numbers are. Depending on how you guess, it could go either way.
The other big factor is that both Microsoft and Sony released what they had sold to retailers, which is not the same as sold to consumers. So if retailers tend to keep less PS3's in stock then X360's, the PS3 could still be ahead even though it shipped the same amount. Everytime I try to Google for that sort of information, I just end up back on this site :) And based on this site, the PS3 took the lead last year.
And like you mentioned, it doesn't matter what the numbers are, but I am curious as what they are anyway.
