Well UT 3 wasnt a console seller for the PS3 , and GoW will never arrive on a Sony sistem , so I really wouldent mind if this would happen ...

it will never happen. Epic is just like Valve. Independent and powerful.

if ms were to do that would they still license unreal technology to developers or would ms keep it for themselves?

I don't see this one happening. Epic is much more than GoW. Lots of companies who rely on their middleware products would take their money elsewhere, especially if the merger resulted in the death of Unreal Engine 3 for the PS3.

Dont think this will happen .Even if it does ,the brains will leave the company and let MS with the brand name alone ....just as with Rare for example .

i wouldn't doubt that MS would like to buy epic. MS could really use some more quality 1st/2nd party developers cause nintendo/sony are much stronger in that department.

I would say Gears wasnt a very high profit percentage for them actually. Rember, Each time you see a game running U3 Engine... That's I beleive it's around 500,000$ +royalties cash in their pocket. If microsoft bought them, Microsoft would be STUPID to make them an exclusive company. And when I say stupid... I mean really stupid. It would turn change Epics Giant Green Numbers on their spread-sheets, to giant red numbers. They actually rely on engine sales.
