With Titanfall being M$ next big release for the XboxOne, having the month of March all to itself would of been a huge boost for XboxOne sales.

And also taking into effect that Titanfall will  released on Xbox360 along with PC, Titanfall baring any bad final review and Metacritic scores, was poised to have a very positive sales effect for M$.

Then Sony announced that their next big game inFamous Second Son will be released on March 21, just 2 weeks after Titanfalls release. 

I think it's a very smart release window. At that time XboxOne would have been in full Titanfall swing. Gamers playing the game, reporters and bloggers alike talking about the game and all the madnesss that comes with the hype of a new ip.

Here comes inFamous Second Son, Sony's way of throwing sand on the fire that's Titanfall. 

What are your thoughts gamers ?

this all thing about Infamous vs titanfall makes no sense.

I'm not sure Sony have intentionally put Infamous so close to Titanfall to try and shut down hype for that game. Two weeks is a long time in gaming and there's also MGS: Ground Zeros inbetween them both. With each console sharing a big third party release and having a AAA exclusive each, both consoles will receive a similar boost.

Err.. no. Infamous is a nice franchise and this will be the best selling one as its a launch window title and the first real "wow" P$4 game, but it's not a huge franchise. Titanfall will be a huge franchise. Plus as someone else said the matchup is silly, these games do not overlap.

March is a nice time to release a new game early in the year. That's why Titanfall is releasing then. If $ony truly wanted to pit them against one another why not release it same day?

Playstation 4 and XboxOne launched a week apart........... Was that coincidence ?

I think TitanFall will destroy Infamous but they shouldn't be considered directly competing with each other... They are two different genres of games and they appeal to two different audiences... So even comparing them to each other doesn't make much sense... In terms of sales, I do think TitanFall will sell way more cause its basically Cod with mechs and Infamous 2 only sold 1.64 million with 80+ million install base anyway...

This will end well.

I will get both at some point. I will be getting an xbone thursday, i ran into some extra cast to say the least.
Titanfall looks alright, but I would get second son first if it was released on the same day. both look fun.

I think the cross section of potential buyers for these games is tiny. They don't influence each other.

2 weeks in gamer years is like 6 months.

Titanfall would be in full swing and its gamers will be into the multiplayer to look into Saints Row Second Sun :P

That said, Infamous will do great as well. They both appeal to different gamer segments.
