he may be pro-lets-sell-the-xbox-division but he's not in charge of selling of whole divisions.
so thing he can do is increasing the 'market value' of his division. make it more profitable.
i don't know much about him but he was CEO of a device manufacturer, so he knows at least a good bunch about his new position.

he seems like a good choice.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

As I said...

But I also know people will have some questions about what happens post-close. While details aren’t final, here is what we know, and how we’re generally approaching integration:

1. Stephen Elop will be coming back to Microsoft, and he will lead an expanded Devices team, which includes all of our current Devices and Studios work and most of the teams coming over from Nokia, reporting to me.

An obvious and very good choice imo.

Please remember... gaming journalists, in the main, are morons.

Absolute undiluted bullshit.  As a Nokia shareholder I can assure you that is far from the truth.  He saved them from utter annihilation and extinction.

After the news of new microsoft CEO Mr. Satya Nadella here is another news. Nokia boss Stephen Elop (who said he would sell off Xbox, etc.) might be the new head of Microsofts "Surface, Windows Phones and Xbox". He will be heading all three divisions.
