Which do you prefer for VGC Tournys?

Time 22 20.56%

Stock 85 79.44%

Total:107

My single favorite thing about the Super Smash Bros. series is how there's tons of ways to play it with all them different modes and options available. So my question here is what is yal's favorite way to play? Me, well you know me! I gotta haves variety, so I play all pretty much all modes! I even make up modes of my own! But of course, there's always a mode I play more than the rest, and that's with the game's default settings (Time, 2 minutes, 1.0dmg, all items @ medium, etc.) in 4 player free for alls!

As for the Poll, there's definitely gonna be SSB4 tournaments hosted here once the game releases, but the question is what format will they be in? Again, so many ways to play afterall! Of course we can have tournaments with different rules n settings every now n then, but the majority of tournys will probably be in a basic format, either Time or Stock battles, but which one! Answer in the poll above!

As for my thoughts on the matter, I think doing Time battles would be the way to go, and not just because that's how I usually battle! In Stock battles, it's actually advantageous to run and sit in the background while everyone else fights, since Stock is solely about surviving, not getting kills. Yes it's easily possible to win a stock battle only getting 1 kill, or heck without killing anyone! In Time battles though, you have to get in their and fight, as you'll lose if you just cower in the background all day. Not to mention all players get to play for the duration of the battle regardless of how good or not they're doing, so it's more fun for everyone, and it'll be easier to plan out tournaments since with all battles will be the same length, you can gauge how long the entire tournament will be and schedule it accordingly. Stock would be okay for 1 on 1 battles though. All in all, these are just my thoughts on the matter, so make sure to leave your's aswell! ^_^

Stock battles. Always. It's the players' job to go after those that hide and expose them.

5-7 lives, free-for-all, low, selective items, large stages with little environmental hazards.

Always? You mean you've never tried any other game modes? o_O

How I play it:
Stock 7 lives, high items, no tomatos no hammers, no bunny hood, no cloacking device, no food, heart container, no raygun, no starman, no shrooms, no banana, no smoke ball, no assist throphy
4 playesr allways
homemade level which is basicly a straight line with one block in the middle

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I've tried them. Coin battle's okay, but not for anything serious. Time mode was unanimously hated by all of my friends and me after a couple tries.

to much luck involved in short matches for my taste, more lives lowers the impact of a lucky hit or whatever

I always prefer stock. Also no items. That way I don't get as pissed off if someone steals my kill.
