Forums - Gaming Discussion - Pitch your ideas to Sony for the next handheld concept

Drop out of the handheld market and focus your attention on the console market. The mobile space is already too crowded as it is. The 3DS does its job as a kids toy, which obviously appeals to an older crowd but even it's having a bit of trouble despite great sales. The Vita is a hard sell since it has very few games and very little first party support, its also meant to be an all purpose machine which really puts it up against things like Smartphones.

At the time, the PSP Go was perfect. Any that disagrees just didn't know how to fully use it.

If Sony created a similar handheld to the PSP Go (but of course more powerful and higher res) and add a slot for physical games, have their current PSN online features, and the ability to connect up to 4 controllers (instead of just 1) on the device for local gaming then that'd be the perfect console.

Everything you said might be right, it would be the perfect handheld* but that doesn't mean it would sell. The 3DS is far from perfect, yet look at it.

Sony didn't do a good job marketing the features sadly.  Forget the PS4 and PS Vita cross play, the PSP/PSP Go did both with one device.

And with rumours of Nintendo for their next gen device, it seems like Nintendo will be doing something very similar except with their proposed device's dock to increase the power of the handheld when playing on TV.  And Nintendo just knows how to market their handhelds. And pokemon lol

I don't think Sony needs a new handheld...

Vita is a beast, they only have to support it and make some changes...

- Allow multiaccounts, just like ps3/ps4: You know, it's a s***... when my brother picks my Vita he has to restart the system, adjust time/age/date, he has to watch the f***** video, connect to the Wifi, write his PSN account, and after 10min he can play with his account! Then when I want to pick the Vita again, I have to do the same. Worst decision ever made by Sony on Vita.
- Give Vita some games that ps3 or ps4 don't have: They have lot of abandoned Ip's (The Legend of Dragoon, The Getaway, Medievil, Omega Boost...)
- Allow any SD card not only Sony. If they don't like this, then drop the price of their SD cards or bundle 16gb+vita for a reasonable price.
-Bundle Vita+Ps4.

These changes + ps4 remote play and I'm 100% confident the sales would increase.

If someone here works for Sony give them this information :D
