I believe they did a similar thing with twilight princess. I assume it was delayed from its original 2005 release date, not because it wasnt finished but because Nintendo knew it would be a better used as a wii launch title as opposed to a swan song for the gamecube. (In which case the wii wouldn't have received an actual zelda game till 2009).

A Majora's Mask remake on the Wii U would be a decent way to make up it if they did make such a decision.

Exactly.

It's cheaper for them to develop another remake and still the console will have three Zelda games, just like the Wii.

TP was actually released for Wii first, even though it was originally a GC game.

Funny, I was thinking about the same thing few days ago...though I think they're more likely to pull TP like scenario, release the game on WiiU and than enhanced version on successor.

My prediciton: There won't be a single Wii U game released after February 10th except for Lego Lego. A Lego game based on Lego games.
