Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Prediction: There won't be a proper Zelda game for Wii U

I actually agree. A proper Zelda game with high-end graphics would cost too much for Nintendo's sales expectations. It just wouldn't fit with their business strategy.

how surprising :P

Might be true.

Seriously doubt it. Every Nintendo home console has had at least 1 mainline Zelda game.

It's still coming out, but I doubt this year. It's been in development for a while and it will likely have gamepad specific features. If development started today, well that would be a different story.

TPHD? Where the heck did you got that from? At least use credible information before making such predictions.

So alienating your fanbase would be a wiser business strategy ?

Iwata's latest presentation didn't give much thought to the fanbase.

I think it's gonna take a while before we see a brand new Zelda HD. It's Nintendo's first time developing in HD, and Zelda is a far bigger game than, say, Super Mario 3D World. It's a problem the industry has left in 2006, but oh well.

I'm not so sure about a 2015 release. I'd say 2016 the earliest. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's not as "open-worlded" as previous entries and is a bit more linear.

Because it wasn't aimed at the fanbase, it was aimed at shareholders.
