Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Miyamoto: Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U will arrive at the end of 2014

I could see an October release, simply for the fact of getting the toy line selling for Smash Bros. I'm pretty convinced SSB is going to be their big NFC game and they probably will make a fortune off the toys. $3 a pop for a toy line that could eventually be like 100-200 characters large ... uh huh.

i guess that means Zelda will be a 2015 tittle.

I've expected it on November 21 2014 since it was announced

Didn't they say that they are going to show off that game at E3 2014 though? Seeing as SSB is already announched I'm not sure if it's going to be that one, although the idea isn't terrible.

I don't think Iwata ever specified it as being a new game, just that they were going to showcase multiple uses of NFC at E3, including being able to make payments on it and what I suspect is going to be a Super Smash Bros. NFC toy line.

It's just too much of a given. I hate NFC toy gimmicks, but damnit if I don't buy every single one of these bastards. Take my money Nintendo.

Holiday title there!

Does this mean that Zelda will be delayed, or could Nintendo offer both titles for the holiday season?

Zelda delayed? It hasn't even been announced for 2014, has it?

I don't know why anyone is expecting it this year. MK8 in May, then Smash in Oct/Nov and Zelda in late 2015 is my expectation.

Maybe i`m wrong. I always thought Zelda was to be released this year.

Still, they could use something big for December - or even for October/November.

Well so much for Zelda this year, I gotta find my thread were I said that it wouldn't come 2014, I remember many disagreeing with me on that. :D

U cant delay something that never had a release date/window to begin with. The game hasnt even been shown yet, Wind Waker HD just came out a few months ago and Hyrule Warriors is releasing later this year. I doubt the would have a remake, spinoff and new title all release on the same system within a year from each other.

You are probably right.
I was under the impression that Zelda was sltated for this year.
Too much Zelda, i agree.

Releasing SSBU in November is a smart move on Nintendo's behalf (if that is when it is planned for). If they includea price drop, along with SM3DW/ MK8 bundles as well, they would be able to at least drive some strong sales through the Holidays.

What about the 3DS version, though?
