Unless of course you guys are going to say "i would hand on heart pay full retail for a console that uses RF as its default video output".

I'd be happy paying retail price for an SNES if I couldn't easily get one cheaper. And if I didn't already have one from 1994 that still works. ;)

So, you're trying to tell me if a new console launched today, with the same spec as the snes, you would willingly pay the asking price of $199 for it?

I just bought an RGB modded NES (actually AV Famicom) for over $300. Well worth the money and I'm very happy with it! The picture looks fantastic on my PVM.

Sub 544p / 30fps. Persona 4 Golden.

May I ask what the point of this thread is?

To point out that its not all about fps / resolution that makes a game great I suppose.

I don't think anybody needed telling that.

Metro: Last Light, 2560x1440@100fps

Skyrim, 2560x1440@120fps

Tie between the two.

I just cant begin to fathom how Metro Last Light would be anyones favorite FPS, let alone favorite game of all time. Even with QHD resolution & 100 FPS and all...

Like have you played Goldeneye, Halo, Half Life 2, FEAR...etc?

Yes, and i prefer Metro Last Light, that's the beauty about personal preferences, theyre.. oh I don't know, personal?

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

320x240 at 20fps.

I know the 3DS version is nicer to look at and actually has an acceptable framerate of 30fps and the GameCube version had a doubled resolution, but you just can't beat the feel of the N64 version .

Interesting that vast majority of people here have posted games that run at 480p or below.

It's because back then the games were better .

That said, for the average new game today, I wouldn't really accept something that has such a low resolution or framerate. Even if the technical side isn't where my priorities in gaming lie, I at least expect some progress gen-on-gen. Luckily I am able to put things into perspective, so to me older games definitely don't lose their quality .

Uncharted, sadly its only 720/30 because of the dated hardware.
They released a video of it running at 60fps, and it looks amazing, I wish the PS3 was powerful enough to run it at 60.

I understand why PC gamers go around boasing their over 1080p 60 gameplay, but I simply cant afford to maintain that level of PC hardware at the moment.

Only a fool would reject that their favourite game would be a better experience with higher resolution and frame rates.

Super Mario Galaxy. 480p and I guess 30 FPS.

Half-Life 1 and 2.

FPS and resolution depending on your hardware/settings

I played most of my favourite games, like Thief II and Myth II, at 1024x768@75Hz or @85Hz (on 17" CRTs), but IIRC Fallout 2 ran at an even lower res, maybe 800x600, while OTOH for Planescape:Torment, that natively runs at 800x600, I installed a fan made patch that let me run it at my portable's native 1280x800@60Hz and 16:10, my favourite form factor, alas not very used (my old Philips 19" LCD that I gave to my mom after I got it repaired under warranty, is 16:10 too).
