We're talking lifetime sales here, not day one. Wii U won't stop selling this year and neither will SSB4. |
Considering the attach ratio for past editions of the game, if the game manages to have a 20% attach ratio (to say the very least) and considering it manages to sell 8M like many of you predict, means that WiiU needs to have 40M consoles sold ~lifetime~.
A big feat, considering how the console has been selling up to this point.
I thought Sony consumers rewarded the company for new IP's, not for the third sequel in less than 10 years.

This isn't a thread for fanboy console wars. I'm making a prediction here. Quit trying to derail my thread.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary did just north of 2 million. What in the world are you predicting for Halo 2 Anniversary? lol
OT: Why not. Smash 3DS could really cut into Wii U sales.

You have to factor in that Smash games are evergreen titles so SSB will sell for the whole lifetime of the Wii U. 3 to 4 million is a very very low prediction for it. |
Also, the Wii U already has a 3m+ seller.
Is this really even a prediction? The ps4 will have a lot more sales than the wiiU when UC4 comes out (probably 2015).

I forgot to include the exeptional bundling capabilities of Nintendo, then the game might have greater numbers.
Nintendo would need just a install base of 10M to have SMB sell more than UC4, are you serious in this question?

If Uncharted 4 sold 7m units, then the attach rate for SSB would need to be 70% at 10m WiiUs. That doesn't make much sense.
