So it seems the next gen is going to be a battle for 2nd place.  Nintendo and Microsoft have both had their initials problems. Nintendo's lower powered system and bad marketing campaign,people thinking it's a Wii addon vs  Microsoft's  pr diasater ,t.v/t.v/t.v, kinect always listening big brother,..etc.  Sony has played and good game so far and even without doing really anything and just keeping their mouth shut seems to easily win the hearts of gamers so far.  Nintendo has had a good head start but have moved over 2 million more consoles then microsofts next gen console so far. 

Can Microsoft catch Nintendo or should they start thinking about going 3rd party and putting Halo and Gears of War on the Wii U?

Its a wait and see game at this point but I think the WiiU will pick up the pace this year thats if they lower the price to 250$. The Xbone is already showing in stock much more than the PS4 and I think its not a good sign for the sales to come this year for microsoft.

X1 will be in second place before the year's end.

OP: Of course Xbone, no doubt. Wii U might have a chance if a turnaround happens. But even that might not be enough.

Sorry nintendo fans. Mario kart 8 wont push wii u like titanfall will push x1. Wii u is destined to be in the third place this gen.
