Well, not quite yet, but it is "sit down and think long and hard about why the hell we made Kinect mandatory since it only inflates the price and serves as of yet no gaming purpose at all on the platform, all the while causing a slight identity problem for potential customers from two segments of the market" time.

I believe MS already know why they make Kinect mandatory.  Its probably not what the system can do today but what MS believe they will be delivering tomorrow.  If MS is not willing to part with Kinect for the X1 then its evident that Kinect is as important to MS then immediate sells for the X1.  The key will be how long will it take for MS to bring the value of having Kinect to the X1.  I am not sure if Kinect selling as much as the PS4 at this time is really a big deal.  The device just needs to sell.  I doubt this gen will be over in 2 years or something like that so who knows how things will turn out 2 years from now.

Exactly what I'm thinking.

OT: Not yet, but I think those EU numbers would be worrying to anyone. Then again, desperate times seem to bring out the best in companies like M$, so bring it on!

I think it`s early to tell. Although being at 500$ and stay competitive with a 400$ PS4 will be very, very hard.

Sony tried to the "value" aproach with the PS3 and that didn`t work. I can`t see it work with XB1. Either their games proposition will be that good or they will have to cut the price sooner than they anticipated.

I highly doubt that think that much of the Xbox division. They will probably do something to increase sales but panic no.

"Excuse me sir, I see you have a weapon. Why don't you put it down and let's settle this like gentlemen"  ~ max

Why would they??? They sold 3,9M consoles grossing 1,95B and more royalties and live, while Sony have grossed meager 1,68B, they should be panicking instead they are buying a bigger hq for ssm and had bought a gigantic sonyland in 2013, they have no sense... Could have bought 3 ir more exclusives, but they preffer to go bankrupt.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I don't understand you people. The console's been out there for like two months and you're thinking it's over or almost over already? Why should anyone panic? Besides, panic is never the answer for anything.

Nope

They still have to release in alot of countries.
They are testing some bundle ideas.
They have more room for a price cut than the competition.
Xbox one is doing amazing.
Higher price and launched in less countries and its still selling.

You can tell the Kinect to do stuff. Like turn on!

But seriously, that price. If it starts to look really bad come March/April, something needs to be done.

yes, things could snowball fast. They are 1 Sony grabbed major exclusive (that was multi) from being kicked in the junk.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

This is why we should look at limiting thread-creating abilities to users with over a couple of hundred posts.

Yes, after far and away the most successful console launch in Xbox history, Microsoft should be panicking.

Sigh.

I am very worried about TROPICO 5, I was hoping it was going to be on the One but so far only the PS4 is confirmed. If the One keep getting only the generic games (Ubi open worlds and Activision/EA shooters), I will buy the PS4 before I expected. I almost bought a WiiU today, but decided that Nintendo cannot be trusted either (as of now).
The next 4 to 5 months are decisive, Microsoft better get some japanese devs, indie, strategy and rpg love, or else they will fail.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
