Forums - General Discussion - Game of Thrones Season 4 Thread - Premier 6th of April in U.S.

When you have to stab, stab. Don't hold a damn speech while that overgrown meathead that really wants to brutalise you still breathes...

Too bad, I began to like Oberyn.

I'm glad that Daenerys didn't appear that much but the few scenes she got were more than enough to annoy me greatly. I don't know if her story is told better in the books but it really feels to me like she's only gotten so far because the story wants her to, not because she's particularly bright or anything. Poor dragons.

The battle at the Wall was quite epic indeed. Felt a bit meh at first when I realised that a whole episode was dedicated to that fight but it was worth it. The giant scythe was a bit silly though, I'm pretty sure there are easier ways to stop people from climbing a vertical ice wall.

The finale was quite good overall. Some things simply had to come to an end.

Disappointed they didn't include what happened in the epilogue of A Storm of Swords in the finale...book readers know what am talkin bout ;0

Loved that D&D moment with Bran & co.

Also, I guess it did make sense Stoneheart didn't appear since they probably want to condense her scenes over a single season.

It's either that or she has been cut like Tysha, perhaps because of casting costs.

On an interesting note, the show is already spoiling the books cutting down theories like Tysha or Robb's child. Haha.

That stuff was insane. Maybe in the season premiere next year.

Also, i think they could have done a better job by spending a few more minutes on Jaime and Tyrion scenes. His motivation to release him is just not clear in the episode. One moment he is all best lovers forever with Team Cersei and next he is helping escape the person she despises most.

 Awesome art.

A solid finale, I liked the Viserion and Rhaegal scene being shown, and was shocked again as they killed another character alive in the books in one story line.

My only real issues were.

Depiction of the "Children" they felt too plain and humanoid and opposed to distinct species.

Tywin/Tyrion speech alterations with Tysha and "where ever whores go" being cut.

Yeah, that whole scene had me wondering where they are going with that given he dies in agony from the poison int he books.

Anytime there is a change in adaptation I am surprised.

This basically means Oberyn died for nothing -.-

Dorne will want his head even more now given his confession.  I wonder if this reveals something about book 6 or not about "Sir Robert Storng".

I have a small problem with this show right now. I mean I understand it is unique and no character except of Tyrion is invincible and in some sort of danger. And after the death of Ned Stark the world was fucking because that was one of the greatest twists in TV history, But now they have killed almost every Character we saw in season one, I mean thats all cool and all right. But what Characters are we supposed to root for who´s left? Loras Tyrell? You have to leave Characters alive for the audience to bond with them. I hope you understand what I mean.

Oberyn forever
