Forums - Gaming Discussion - Update: Titanfall will only use Xbox 360 controllers on PC, not Xbox One controllers (yet)

Saw this over on NeoGaf:

I know that most of you are going to go the route of keyboard & mouse, but I'm glad to see that Titanfall will support the Xbox One controller for those that want it. I love seeing multiple options for players, because everyone is different!

They would get completely pummeled by the mouse/keyboard users :P

Game pad users get aim assist though

Mhhhm that hardcore MLG Experience...LOL
Even on PC you get Aim Assists if you use a Gamepad?Really? At what people is this game aimed at?Cats?Dogs?
I mean you can take this game as serious as CoD when it comes to competitive gaming but even on PC Aim Assists? In a MP only game?Really?
Indirectly confirms my dislike for this game - It doesn't only look like CoD it even has it's disgusting Aim Assist. Can't wait to see Tournament Streams on twitch.tv where people will take this seriously and the real core gamers just laugh their ass off.
I really would have given this game a little chance on PC in 4k but if i have to face some Gamepad Cheaters even there i don't care anymore.
Killzone is as MLG as it can get on consoles right now > Absolutely no Assists. This is how you have to do it in EVERY DAMN SHOOTER
I just hope those "Pro Gamers" which help out at 343 Studios with the next Halo MP will tell them "DON'T ADD ANY KIND OF ASSISTS OMFG" - Would always be my first concern creating a good Multiplayer.

They really need to remove aim assists from console FPS and let people earn their kills.

does it support the 360 controller?

Im not too sure of the advantage of keyboard and mouse with Titanfall. The amount of sprinting, shooting, jumping and running on walls works perfectly with bumper jumper settings. Its not like battlefield or Cod where You're just sprinting, camping and shooting.

What? So because you can jump high you don't think the keyboard and mouse offers an advantage? That's weird...

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It's not new news that Xbox One controllers don't work on PC. Microsoft has stated before that support for their current console's controllers will be coming sometime in 2014. But after one Twitter user asked Respawn if their upcoming shooter Titanfall will work with an Xbox One controller on PC, the company surprisingly wrote back, "Yes."

Respawn shortly thereafter deleted that message and offered up the response, "We don't, sorry. I saw 'Xbox controller.' We support 360, not One on PC." More than likely, this isn't an issue that's up to Respawn at all; like the rest of us, they're just waiting for Microsoft to release new drivers drivers that would untether the Xbox One controller from its current console exclusivity.

Reaching out to Microsoft for comment, a spokesperson said, "The Xbox One controller, although it looks similar in many ways, shares no underlying technology with the current Xbox 360 controller. We know PC compatibility is important to many Xbox One customers and expect PC drivers to be available in 2014."

We've also contacted Respawn regarding the statements, but it's likely that the PC version of Titanfall will eventually be able to to support Xbox One controllers. That that won't happen until Microsoft makes them available, but you might remember that hacker Chris Gallizzi claimed to have gotten the driver situation sorted out himself months ago.

Yeah I thought that seemed odd. I just figured maybe they knew something about the drivers that we didn't.
