Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If Nintendo made a Beast System...

If Nintendo released a monster system I would...

say "Take my money!!!!" 58 33.14%

buy it soon, even though ... 14 8.00%

Only buy it after I'm do... 57 32.57%

buy it even though I have or want a PS4. 15 8.57%

buy it even though I have or want an XBOne. 0 0%

never buy it. 31 17.71%

Total:175

... would you buy it?

There is lots of talk about how Nintendo should make a high-end core system instead of the Wii philosophy.  There are fake rumors posted about how it's already designed.  But if they made it, would you buy it?  Would you buy it if you had a Wii U already?  Would you buy it instead of a PS4 or XBOne?  When is too soon?  Too late?

Assume the system is a beast (at least 2-4X the power of PS4), launches between 2015 and 2017 is around $399 at release, has a subscription for online and a fairly standard controller.  Assume it also launches with a beautiful M64 type Mario, a new shooter/adventure type game from Retro and an epic RPG from Monolithsoft.

A lot on the forum say they'd buy it and probably won't :P

I wouldn't buy it. Regardless of how powerfull a console becomes, it can't match the PC. (That is if buying a console was based upon whether performance was the definitive buying factor.)

Price is the determining factor for me at the moment, I have so many gaming devices today, plodding down another few hundred bucks is a tough sell and my games backlog is already insane...

I'd only consider it if all my complaints toward Nintendo's stupidness when it comes to online services and features are dealt with. But that's the same issue I have with Wii U. So either console I would buy.

I do not think that the sony and microsoft fanboys would buy a Wii X even if it is 10 times stronger then ps4 and x1

threads liek this are pointless cause people on the internet say one thing but do another.

Extreme fanboys won't buy much of anything other than the object of their corporate affection.  I'm assuming they will answer never.  But most people are more moderate/open.

I think it's safe to say that this imaginary mega-system has a strong online component as well to justify its subscription charges.

and yes I did buy an N64, apparently many others didnt. They scaled back a little with GCN, still no sales. They scaled WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY BACK for Wii... sales out the wazoo
