Forums - Sony Discussion - SONY downgraded again to Junk by Moody's (outlook stable).

Not really surprising is it.

Time to cut of some divisions Sony!

Around the Network

this comes to show how Nintendo has a long way to go before dissapearing. this kind of things dont happen in a night/day timelapse

The advantage of Sony vs. Nintendo (part of mega sized company with lots of departments vs. gaming only company) is that Sony could bail out the Playstation division when it was bleeding money in the early PS3 days. But the disadvantage is that Sony could now drag down the Playstation division even though the PS4 is selling great and the whole division could get sold. Though I think Sony would get rid of less profitable units before giving up what may be their best asset.

I wonder when Sony will start realizing they should cut off their cancer known as the TV division? :/

Sony has the same problem as nintendo  IMO, something that seems to be inherently Japanese. They just can't ditch their roots, it seems. In some ways, it's an  admirable trait. The U.S. is all about the now. If you don't deliver you get cut instantly. Meanwhile, Ken Kutaragi still "works" for Sony till this day. Oh well, he's worth $6 bln apparently so he's living the life.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Their TV's have take a severe beating on the market and they're being outdone there at every front, including price. The Vaio line is a rather obscure part of the PC market as a whole, people seem to prefer Western made PC's and mostly Eastern made mobile devices (Apple being the excpetion to the rule, but they are far from their American market power outside NA).

Sony need to go balls to the walls in music and film, get the cost for their mobile division down; they already have terrific products but they are too costly to manufacture. The last thing they'll do is abandon the Playstation though; where other divisions are mostly taking huge hits, the PS division is currently on an upwards curve again and has great potential for a positive surge both financially and in market influence terms.

There will still be a bunch of people on the internet who continue to refuse the facts though; Sony have gotten themselves in a bunch of trouble (yes, gotten themselves, as in; it's their own actual fault).

They're still having profit so that's something. Smartphone business is also looking better. But the TV business...

Sony should go third party and make games for iPhone. *snickers*

Their market cap is about $17 billion ... Nintendo probably could buy out their game division and possibly the movie division too.

Microsoft could buy them for lunch.

Those firms always seem to find the right time to downgrade or upgrade.
Sony was just about to hit support for a reversed shoulder head shoulder.

one does not simply buy a division.

It's all or nothing. And with all I mean debt and everything
