Forums - Sports Discussion - ROYAL RUMBLE TONIGHT.....Anyone else watching?

Who is winning the Rumble?

Batista 32 51.61%

Daniel Bryan 8 12.90%

CM Punk 13 20.97%

The Field (anyone else) 8 12.90%

Total:61

It's too bad WWE has no competition to set them straight. TNA is losing their key players and has a difficult time selling over 500 tickets for most of their shows.

You're right, did you know what city is raw tomorrow?

This may be the lowest low point in the WWE's history. Comcast is giving people refunds for Bryan not even being in the Royal Rumble. 80 percent of the people on Facebook are trashing Batista/WWE. Mick Foley said he is disgusted, and he had no problem with Sandow losing his MITB to Cena. The crowd booed Batista out of the building. Good job you idiots, in the process of trying to bury Daniel Bryan you just solidified his status as the most popular wrestler in the world, just by screwing him over.

By the way props to Bray Wyatt,CM Punk,Roman Reigns,Daniel Bryan, and Seth Rollins. They all put on a great show tonight. I was especially impressed with Wyatt. That was his best match in the WWE by far.

Cleveland.  That crowd is going to boo the hell out of everyone not named Bryan,Punk, or Reigns.

I'm still at a loss to explain why the WWE does not want to capitalize on the most over guy in their entire company. They've got someone the crowd is behind 100% and all they seem to want is to push him down the card.

It's like if Nike had said, "hey, we're not really into this Jordan guy, let's go with the Air Pippin as our flag-ship model."

I would LOVE to know what rationale they're using. What are they trying to accomplish? Because I can tell you right now that Daniel Bryan in the main event of Wrestle Mania would be electric. The stadium would rock and you know the match would be top notch. Why is the WWE seemingly against benefiting from that?

I'm honestly mystified.

This has the makings of the poorest performing Wrestle Mania in years. I hope they're happy with that. Unless something changes and they throw out a surprise or two, my interest is pretty damn low.

For me my wrestling history is......

1995-1997 --- WCW
2002- Current ---- WWF/WWE

lol

I didnt watch WWF during its best era n_n. But over the past few years I've watched several shows/matches on YouTube during the years I missed.

1987 for me lol. WrestleMania III, followed WWF/WWE up until 2007, but got back into it two years ago. Also watched Stampede Wrestling in the late 80s, Maple Leaf Wrestling in the early-to-mid 90s, and WCW between 1991-2001, and the sporadic ECW show.

Cleveland  doesn't have hot crowds but with this i'm expecting something big.

chicago, florida, seattle are hot crowds.

It's all about HHH's ego, and anyone who says otherwise just does'nt want to see it.  He brought back his buddy Batista, and had him win the Rumble.  His buddy Orton is the WWE Champion.  His old pals the New Age Outlaws are now the tag champions.  HHH doesn't care what the fans want, he just want's himself and his buddies in the spotlight.   The guy booked 3 of Brock Lesnar's 6 matches since he came back for himself.      He gets the spotlight on Raw regularly for 15 - 20 minutes, and doesn't even compete.    HHH was a great wrestler back in his day, but right now he is basically a cancer that is killing wrestling.

Raw tomorrow is going to be really interesting.

everyone that isn't bryan or punk will get booed

Or Reigns.

Right now, here's my list of wrestlers that NEED to be in better positions and could be the next crop of talent for the next generation that WWE is underutilizing in lieu of raining more money on Old guys like The Rock and Batista:

Daniel Bryan
CM Punk
Damian Sandow
Dolph Ziggler
Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins
Dean Ambrose
Big E Langston
Cody Rhodes
Antonio Cesaro
Ryback (I'd be okay with this, even if he is terrible, he's new and young!)
Jack Swagger (he was at the top once and is one talented guy)
Kofi Kingston (Workhorse, always a yearly treat at RR, has the skill)

That's 12 people definitely more deserving than Batista, with the plausible exception of Ryback.  Oh, and the single most deserving (Bryan) wasn't even in the rumble.  Those are the 12 guys I think Are 'on the way up', with the possible exception of Swagger and Kofi for being around for years and never quiiiite making it to the main event.  Those might go into Category 3. if that was the case, then it'd be a case of 10 potential winners, 10 entertainers, and 10 disqualified entrants who stand no chance of winning.  (and yet one who should have been disqualified won)

On the flipside, here are the people that should NOT win a Royal Rumble from this match:

Batista (Won in 2005, is 45 years old)
Kane (Well past his prime, had his 11 eliminations)
Goldust (Like Kane, past his prime)
Kevin Nash (OMG, thought he was dead, LOL)
The Great Khali (DUUHHH)
El Torito (Duh, again)
Sheamus (Won in 2012, though he's on the fence)
JBL (PAst his prime)
Alberto Del Rio (2011 winner, has never been main event material)
Rey Mysterio (2006 winner, getting old and busted)

That's 10 guys who should not win, but only 4 joke entries (NAsh, Khali, El Torio, and JBL).  The others are good for the rumble, but not as winners.

Then there are the guys who just aren't there anymore, or not yet, like:

Alexander Rusev (Developmental, good but not great)
Jimmy + Jey Uso (Great team, I doubt they'd be much seperate)
Luke HArper + Eric Rowan (Again, a team.  Not individuals)
R Truth (Doomed to the midcard)
The Miz (Doomed to the midcard)
Fandago (just not that good, didn't deserve his WM win last year)

I just genuinely don't get it.  I really, really don't.  10 guys all with tonnes of skill, some of which genuinely on the cusp of super megastardom, many others with genuine longterm potential....and nothing.  Just...nothing.

So pissed.  I really shouldn't be.
