What Will Be The Biggest Flops of 2014?

Forums - Gaming Discussion - What Will Be The Biggest Flops of 2014?

Which one will sell the worst

The Divsion 52 6.45%

Watch Dogs 46 5.71%

Titanfall 154 19.11%

Infamous: Second Son 53 6.58%

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U 25 3.10%

X 40 4.96%

Bayonetta 2 244 30.27%

Hyrule Warriors 104 12.90%

The Witcher 3 29 3.60%

Other (Post it) 56 6.95%

Total:803

From the list, I'd go with Bayonetta 2.

However, the only problem with discussions like this is, if it's done purely from sales, it's not necessarily which will be the biggest flop, as the games don't all have the same anticipated/projected sales.

I wouldn't expect a Wii U exclusive like Bayonetta 2 to sell anywhere near what Titanfall etc do. So even if it sold less, it could still be viewed that one of the other games was a bigger flop.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

What do you consider a flop? Cause I think no chance in hell.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Thats normal for mmo's...............

Do MMO's actually make that money back, normally?

My only insight into MMO's is the Final Fanatasy RPG/MMO, which I'm pretty sure was a flop.

ff14 has been a huge success (Despite terrible launch), seems a lot of misconceptions on here with mmos.

Bayonetta 2. I know the game  is going to be awesome, but it's a Platinum game and it will sadly bomb.

Bayonetta 2.
And the biggest disappointment in sale Titanfall.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

You didn't answer my question, though. Do MMO's regularly re-coop their huge budgets?

Oh yeah. I keep forgetting about Elder Scroll Online. Oh boy. Apparently the game cost them 200M to make.

Bomberific.

Why would any company let budgets balloon to that expense?

Ridiculous.

You would think that after the titanic failure of all the recent MMO's FFXIV (at launch) and SWTOR Online and so on.. that companies would stop churning out these huge big budget MMO's that only tiny portion of PC gamers would want to play.

OK.. thats not entirely true because the people who do want to play one, play WoW. And even then, the interest for that is getting smaller and smaller by the day.

Yep, in a worst case they usually do by the time they go to f2p, unless it's just a bad game like All points bulletin. You dont need huge numbers when people pay 15 a month.

Publishers would not keep making them if they were financial disasters.

FF14 has been a big success despite the launch issues....and mopst make money or they would nto keep making them.,
