Forums - Gaming Discussion - So I went to Best Buy yesterday....

To be honest I find your story to be exaggerated. Best Buy has most things tagged so nobody is going to walk out of the store with anything especially the size of a PS4, so I do not see why the associate would even suggest something like that. It just comes off as you trying to take acheap  shot at MS.

To me the biggest thing to take away from all of this was that within 24hours of buying a PS4 you were already so bored with it that you spent time away from it, to spend time focusing on something you don't like.

I know I almost got raped by a store employee that tried to sell me an Xbox One back in December but those "We have Xbox One" signs were are there for people that tried to buy an Xbox One back when they were sold out. No point advertising what you don't have--the PS4. We'll see plenty of "We have PS4" signs eventually, same as with the Wii and PS2 before them.

Or maybe it's a case of "we don't have any PS4s but here's a viable alternative", which was a discussion point back in December when people were saying that it may actually help MS if Sony is so supply constrained: people will get tired of waiting and just buy an XBone.

64 systems is a lot. Is this a big best buy?

This particular Best Buy isn't that big. It's not it's own store (property wise). It's apart of a strip attached to a few other businesses

doesn't really matter how big the best buy is.  Video game hardware shipments are actually pretty uniform across all sizes of Best Buy stores, doesn't matter if it is a 20k store or a 50k store, they still get about the same amount of video game hardware.

I saw a bunch of ps4 at my local best buy stacked up like that also, so what's the point?

Actually, that's exactly what she said, #1. That was her explanation for why they had to keep them in the back. If I was gonna make something up to take a cheap shot, it wouldn't be something as corny as "they just grow legs outta nowhere" #2 the PS4 box that was given to me had no tag/sensor/etc on it (just like none of the XBones in the pic have tags on them).

#3 I actually played my PS4 for many hours after I got it ,then I watched Into Darkness, then I went to bed because it was 1am. I had to get up in the morning for work (which is where I'm at right now). So no, I wasn't so bored that I spend time away with it. It's that I have adult responsibilities and can't be on a video game system 24/7

Thank you, come again

best buy doesn't really think like that.  Did you see a lot of we have ps3 or 360 in stock signs on doors when the wii was selling out?  No.  The sign was there because it was probably a common question when the x1 was sold out so when they got them in stock they wanted to make sure every customer knew that they were there when they walked in the store.

I always lol at these threads. You guys are finding Xone's all over the place, and even PS4's, yet I have still yet to see an Xbox One or PS4 box in person.

lol, I worked at Best Buy for 6 years.  Durring that time I can't tell you how many game systems were stolen.  Needless to say it was a lot.  It is not that hard to get the spider wraps off.  However, I doubt that the Best Buy has had any ps4's stolen because I doubt that they have actually let them touch the sales floor yet.  I mean, look at the x1's, they aren't stacked on the floor so people can get them.  You still need an employee to go get a rolling stair to be able to access them.
