You can argue that it has 7th gen equivalent tech (still not entirely true), but it's not a 7th gen console.  It's an 8th gen console just like the PS4/XB1.  The WiiU is just a much weaker 8th gen console.

Answer me this:  If Ninty had decided to release WiiU in 2013 alongside the PS4 and XB1 but had made their console the power equivalent of two Radeon HD 7990 GPUs in crossfire, would the WiiU suddenly be a 9th gen console?

Sadly one ASW had to derail the OPs thread.

The Wii U still isn't getting any of the big next gen titles, so running COD at a slightly better than expected res isn't much of a shocker.

Plus did I miss something where being just a notch above 7 year old hardware is  a victory now? Now someone's got some explaining to do for that one
