Or DR, F5, or KI? lol why do Sony fans continue to mention the lowest ones, when it is fact that X1 had better reviewed/more variety in exclusives in 2013?

This is rich..You are the one that came into this thread and threw out 1 game that had nothign to do with anything. Ps4 has a better overal meta average for 2013 then MS, but thats irrelevant anyway. Ps4 also had way mroe variety...digital games count.

Nothing to do with anything? KZ is the only semi-high rated exclusive. Exclusives drive sales. I think drawing the conclusion that the PS4 is sold on trendiness, brand, and price and not the games is a valid theory.

Digital games are not system sellers, I do agree they should count though, but funny how your people's stance on digital games counting has changed since last gen....

Why mention a bad metacritic score game??? Why not mention Killer Instinct, Forza 5, and Dead Rising 3, 3 big games that clearly out-variety PS4's one worthwhile exclusive FPS? X1 has great 2014 upcoming games as well.

Just saying people are buying it for the price and the name, not for what is actually available. Which is nice for Sony and allows for bragging rights from fans.

Ok, then why not mention Resogun using that logic? It's the highest rated exclusive on the PS4 and XBO. My point was that most people buy these consoles as a future investment, to get games that are coming later. Most people bought the XBO to play Titanfall or Halo. They didn't pay 500 bucks for Dead Rising 3 or Not Turismo 5.

I wouldn't have bought the PS4 or XBO if I could only play their launch lineups. I bought so many more exclusives for the PS3 than 360 so that's why I felt comfortable getting a PS4. I know the great exclusives will come, Sony has some of the best developers in the world. It all begins in March with Infamous Second Son. And XBO owners get to enjoy Titanfall, so everybody wins!

Believe me, I like to count digital titles, but they were always downplayed by PS fans last gen because they werent retail and AAA. On the other hand, digital titles are rarely system sellers.

BTW, an investment tends to appreciate in value, not depreciate. It isn't a bad thing to say something is currently selling on brand name/price alone. PS4 is viewed as trendy and more affordable. Gamers rarely buy a console for games that don't exist yet. Early adopters are just that, they adopt for the sake of adopting.

I disagree, i believe that its the support Sony has shown with both the PS2 and now PS3 in the later years of their lives that is causeing the PS4 to be as popular as it is. Also imo you are contradicting yourself in the same paragraph.

Apologies I meant when the early adopting phase is over, gamers will only buy when a game they want just released/is about to release. Now is still the early adopter phase where PS4 is sold on its concept and promise of more to come.

I agree with you here. The thing is you and i both know the games are coming, if not this will be reflected in trust lost(sales) next generation. i mean look at the WiiU

Going off what Pachter said, they should be producing 323k PS4s per week, and yet every country in the world is still severely supply constrained off of 180k numbers.

Is Pachter really that far off, or is Sony seriously holding back 140k per week (at least going off last week)?

God I hate when you do this generalizing bullshit and try to apply an opinion to an entire group as though it was entirely consistent amonst all Sony fans ever.  It's just incredibly idiotic.

This is a very valid point. I think it has to do with the combination of holding Japan supply and pushing some of Jan's to meet Dec demand

Well short of doing a census or mass survey, all I have to go on is the dozens - hundreds of vocal opinions on a few prominent forums and YT comment sections, which I believe show the hardcore gamers true colours when not under threat of moderation, that in the last years of the previous gen, whenever 360 XBLA games dwarfed the PSN offerings, fans referred to PS3s superior retail exclusive lists.

It is farily logical to say that fans will always go with the arguing point that best suits their interests. Xbox fans said digital mattered and the competition downplayed it with their own strengths (retail exclusives).

People must really want to play Killzone.....

People want a new console
What should they pick?
The Console which is less expensive, more powerful and does every game avaliable in higher resolution and better FPS and is the better future investment or the more expensive console doing nothing better than the other one surrounded by bad PR?
Games?Exclusives?3rd Party moves consoles right now - CoD in 1080p or 720p?Battlefield better on PS4...AC4 better on PS4..Fifa better on PS4(X1 just got a really important patch the PS4 got 2 months ago today.Nice deal ;))
You don't believe that? Why should anyone buy CoD etc on PS4 if they could have it on the Last Gen Console they own?So this means Titanfall isn't a system seller either cause it will be 1:1 available on the 360 as it is on the One.Same low res and everything. At least the CrossGen Ports on the PS4 are better than their last Gen counterparts :)

Forza was never so big people would get interested in it.Not in Europe and especially not in the US - Killer Instinct is F2P and the name isn't well known anymore.
People know Sony will pump out a ton of High Quality exclusives of variety and diversity over the time and will suport the console a long time.
It was a good thing Sony supported the PS3 even that late with tons of NEW exclusives that aren't yearly releases.

Of course PS4 is surrounded by a lot of Hype and good PR but it is just the better investment.
Price, power of the hardware and knowing how Sony supports their console are big factors.
The only fault of Sony is they didn't estimate that demand - Europe has it probably a lot harder to get a PS4 than the US and it won't be easy at all to get one before March/April.The focus on the US is understandable cause it is the only territory where they don't win by default for what ever reason but its annoying.

Wrong. Resogun and Flower were rated higher than anything on the XBO.

Because digital games (one of them is on PS3 for years) are what sell systems. Sorry though, should have specified retail.

So much hate there.

It's funny you forget Resogun, the high rated game on metacritic and yet, you count Killer Instinct, a digital game only retail in US.

also funny you forget the fact PS4 has more exclusives scheduled for 2014 when X1 has none

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m
