Couldn't agree more. The much superior Final Fantasy XIII-2 easily outsold all last generation's rpgs, including that terrible game, Xenoblade, which couldn't even sell a million. Or you know, better games don't always sell better.

so you are telling me that the ps4 has the better games than the one right now?

Game quality is subjective. The PS4 definitely has the highest rated exclusive of the 2 systems ;)

1 game doesn't make a launch line-up better than another. Especially when that game is over in 2 hours.

If that one game is the one that you want to play the most on the system, then it definitely makes the launch line-up better, it's all subjective ;)

Oh ok, the one that you want to play? Yeah that is subjective. But NPD numbers? Those are some pretty good estimates showing which lineup is stronger.

No, I'm not saying that. All I'm saying is that your statement "better games sell better" is by all means wrong. Looking at the numbers, it would appear that FF13-2 is better than Xenoblade, whereas both critics and fans of the genre would agree that Xenoblade is the better game. Better games don't always sell better. Sometimes they do, but not always.

Come back to me with the sales and critical reception/comments on games like Project Spark.  It does not fit into standard genres and it's certainly not going to take Minecraft's spot anytime soon.  Go sign up for Project Spark beta yourself.  If you really want to find out the truth about the game instead of posturing what-if propositions about what was shown at E3.

Quantum Break - Interesting concept but one that has potential failure written all over it.   Good developer but I see a high 70s type metascore for this game at best because it's ambitiously going in the wrong directions.  That's assuming Remedy even finishes this  game before 2015.  A notorious company for not meeting release dates.   You might as well call them Square-Enix or Polyphony Digital.  I have doubt this even hits in 2014, and if it does I don't believe it will be as good as expected.

You most certainly hyped up the BTS game by including it in your list of why the Xbox One releases are so superior in 2014.  I said, we haven't even seen a single snippet or even idea of what the game is even truly about and you're going to put that on the list?   We might as well throw whatever Naughty Dog project is there because it will obviously be one of the best games of the generation.  And Last Guardian?   Sure,  we've seen more of that game than BTS or Sunset Overdrive.

Not one of PS4's "unknown" games that I mentioned is without some footage, screenshots or game direction.  I've watched 25 minutes of Deep Down gameplay.  I've atleast saw numerous in-game screenshots for The Order and been given a run through on the genre it will be.

Stark contrast from Sunset Overdrive/Quantum Break/BTS game.

As for DriveClub,   with PS  Plus it's very common for quality games to make their way into users hands for free.  (For example,  my favorite game of the generation so far)  Resogun was completely free with a PS Plus subscription and I probably never would have bought it without one.   As for your comment about the developer?  While we're certainly not talking about some 'AAA' developer.   I'd say a company whose three fully-fledged console release titles this generation scored  (84,82,77) respectively an average of 81 on Metacritic doesnt exactly mesh with your 'Developers last few games have been terrible'.

If you want to get into developers whose last few games have been terrible,  you need to look right at the feet of Insomniac games.  Their last several games have been absolutely god awful (75,65, 63,70, 83) average of 71 overall.  Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in their new IP which we've seen not an ounce of footage or screenshots of.

Who ever said Project Spark was "going to take Minecraft's spot"? So the goal posts are moving now from it's in an "akward genre" to now stuff about sales and critical response. aka stuff you or I have absolutely 0 knowledge on how it will end up. aka more opinionated stuff you're passing off objectively.

You're typing up a lot of stuff about these games but are missing the point. Yeah, Quantum Break could slip into 2019 and get a 65 metascore. Of course, it could also launch in 2014 or 2015 and get a mid 80's metascore. Hypotheticals and opinions don't make facts, unfortunately.

And it turns out the Black Tusk Studios game is probably Gears of War. So I guess you can chalk that off the list of "akward genres". And no, I didn't hype their project even 0.001%. All I said is that if MS is telling us they are working on a game to rival Halo, they aren't making a game in an "akward genre". It could be a FPS and be a pile of crap. But it's a FPS. Hope that helps, I am done responding.

I'm sorry, but if i re-read what you just said

no surprise. better console sells better

better console

better          CONSOLE

The PS4 is actually the better console, as it's hardware is superior. Try to not make a fool out of yourself nextime, kay? thx.

yes the ps 4 is the better console. thats what im saying. but right now the one has the better games.

i mean

xbox user: " yo i wanna drive lets play some forza"

ps user : "pfft i got G... oh wait."

xbox user: "yo i wanna fight gimme some killer instinct"

ps user: "hey i have injustice with upscaled graphics. sadly i already played the shit out of that on last gen"

xbox user: "yo i wanna shoot zombies lets put in dead rising"

ps user: "..."

well there is killzone but the shooter genre is already kinda flooded

imo the best games on ps 4 are those that were on psplus already and warframe which is also free, so these dont count for sales.

so who do you think would have more retail sales?

as in above post, the better games in this context means the lineup overall. ps games dont even cover all genres in which MS has blockbusters like forza right now. obviously sale numbers are not a quality measure for single games.

Shooter fans have always preferred the XBOX, mainly because of the control design.
