How much did PS2 sell after PS3 launched?

PS3 may do half of that.

If that number > 20 Million

Then YESSSS!!!!!!!

I sure hope it does...don't want Playstation home consoles to lose their 100 Million streak

PS2 shipped around 118m in fiscal year ending march 2007 (official numbers), so i suppose around 110-115m when PS3 launched. So if PS2 shipped around 160m in the end, Sony shipped around 50-45m PS2 along PS3....So there you have it.

Thank you!

So halving PS2's post PS3 sales gives us 22-25 Million

So PS3 would have to be selling at half the rate of the PS2

Anyway this gets harder for PS3 as it had a longer lifecycle & the PS4 is beating PS3 out of the gate (which is a reversal of PS3's launch where the PS2 still outsold it for a year).

On the other hand the PS3 still has the magic $99 to drop to...

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Yes, definitely.

Sony will soon release the super super slim PS3 to reach this goal.

It will be very difficult indeed, in fact PS2 sold in fiscal year 2007 (april 2007-march 2008) 13'7m, in fiscal year 2008 7'9m, in fiscal year 2009 7'3m, in 2010 6'4, and in 2011 4'1m.

If PS3 have 5 more years of shipments, it needs an average of around 4m per year. I'm still positive PS3 will do it around end 2018-2019. And if Sony is aggresive and drop the price like you say, maybe it will reach faster the 100m sales.

*shakes an angry fist* PezuuuuUUUUUUUS! * In my Timmy-Turners-dad-from-Fairly-Odd-Parents-when-he-says-DinklebuuUUUUUURG-voice*

A big no, I also believe it is somewhat overtracked and it will drop hard now that PS4 has been released.

The numbers have already been adjusted. It was overtracked by 1.5 mill and is now at 80.9 mill

I was so confused.

Then I figured out pezus hadn't had his fill and was still doing these threads. If only I caught this one in advance and edited it like the other one.

OT: No. PS Now and Vita.TV are really going to make it hard unless emerging markets are still growing.

What do you mean? So Pezus has done this before? And you know how to "edit" what Pezus does? So i guess you also know how to jack threads aswell..

Pezus did this a few hours ago in a different thread. I should have never told him the secret.

Yes I know how to do many many things, but I don't usually tell people how to do them. Otherwise this forum would collapse. This thread is a perfect example lol.
