I don't know what is happening but after weeks of being in stock at my local Walmart and Future Shop it is now out of stock.

They were pretty much in stock since the last week of December.

Maybe it is due to some late shipments?
Is Microsoft now shipping lesser amount of units?
Titanfall Alpha effect(I don't think so but maybe... why not)?
Maybe it is due to a combinaison of causes?

What do you think is the cause of this?

A Walmart near my house had 7 less than a week ago and is now sold out.

Yah there pretty much sold out everywhere I live (Sudbury). Best place to look is The Superstore (grocery store). No one ever looks there and they even had Xbox ones and PS4s during each respective launch week while everywhere else was sold out.

Yes, obviously people bought all the remaining stock. But why after so many weeks, what have changed?

People got tired of waiting for the ps4... My friend included, he got an x1 instead of a ps4 and he wanted to get a ps4 from the very beginning

Xmas money, year end bonus money, tax refunds, dat GOTG Titanfall, could be any number of things.

They are in stock in Halifax everywhere. But they aren't collecting dust, either.

Your friend is very impatient. 

That he is! He will probably end up by buying both in the long run but hes not going to till a must have exclusive comes to the ps4

Its people realizing Microsoft has a lot of varied Exclusives out right now.
