Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The 3rd Sonic Exclusive will be a REAL Mario & Sonic game! <(^_^<)

Well that's just what I want to believe anyways, but there is good reason for doing so! As we all know, Sonic Lost World be getting DLC where Sonic travels to the worlds of other Nintendo franchises, specifically Yoshi n Zelda. And that's just it! He's going to places other than the one place that's a no brainer for him to go to, being the Mushroom Kingdom! The explanation for this must be because he will be going to the Mushroom Kingdom, only in a full fledged Mario & Sonic game!

Dude I am right there with you. I had my suspicions when they announced the Sonic games will be exclusive and the Yoshi's Island DLC solidified it for me. Sonic being back in Smash, more sonic and Mario at the olympics......yeah they are going to do it.

I think that'd be lame. Sonic and Mario games are simply played at 2 different speeds. I GUESS sonic could work in a Mario game, but I just wouldn't buy it working the other way around. I wish they would just make an open world sonic game, with some Zelda inspired combat. Then you could simply show of Sonic's speed with actual travel instead of making high speed cutscenes that get old fast.

I want a Mario Kart x Sonic All Stars Racing cross over, I don't care that Mario Kart is coming out that sounds amazing.

This is the best Sonic idea I've heard in a long time. Totally in agreement about the "cutscenes" that are liberally applied everywhere in the recent games to make you feel like Sonic is moving SO FAST. Anyway, not sure about Zelda-inspired combat, but the idea of an open world...Hyrule Field-esque (made in a Sonic style) so that you really could GO FAST without having to worry about obstacles every two seconds would be kinda neat. Not sure how they'd structure the actual "action" and gameplay, but definitely would be interesting.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Super Smash Bros. (3DS), Kirby Triple Deluxe (3DS), Mario Kart 8 (Wii U), Super Smash Bros. (Wii U), Monolith Soft's X (Wii U), Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

Considering: Mario Golf: World Tour (3DS), Watch Dogs (Wii U), Art Academy (Wii U eShop)

Untitled/Unknown Release Window Games I Want

Yarn Yoshi (Wii U) Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem (Wii U), The Legend of Zelda (Wii U)

Not really interested. The novelty of Sonic and Mario has run its course and with Sonic Lost World being as much of a let down as it was I would rather SEGA focus on making a good Sonic game that does what people have been asking them to do than them wasting time with a crossover that nobody will care about anymore.

Also it is heavily rumored that the 3rd game will be a Kart racer crossover.

In order to keep both gameplay styles intact, they could simply do it like Sonic Generations did, where one character does one level and the other does the next. It'd be cool if they could somehow mesh both together, but this method works fine too.

Also if what you're suggesting is just having sonic running on an open field, well... that would be uber boring! Just running endlessly is gonna get old quick. That's why they never made a game like that and instead fill all their levels up with obstacles. Sonic is awesomeness not only for it's sense of speed but also because of the fast paced action and quick reflexs needed to maneuver through levels succesfully. But that's just my view on the matter!
